Lvl 14 (still) caught a 790 Pinsir today, he is my biggest guy and still not good enough for the gyms. I got the game for my young fella and he cant even do the best thing and win fights, just dont play it enough

I just hit 15. This is me exactly. Doesn't stop him from visiting gyms and getting smashed though

I don't know how it works but some gyms you can use a tag team of six pokemon to fight the gym.
Only way I'm taking down gyms is by doing this.

Usually I smash the weaker pokemons and run away. Repeat until gym drops a few levels and keep getting that sweet, sweet XP.

Level 21 now but like 60,000xp away from the next level.

Might use a magic egg tonight if I don't get out for some ultimate.

You can fight the other gyms (not your team- Red, Yellow, Blue) to try and take down the gym and you use a team of 6 pokemon to do that.
Or you can fight your own gyms (your team) and try to level it up so the gym level goes up. Once it increases in level there will be an empty spot available on it and you can join as it will be your team. You can only use 1 pokemon to fight your own gym and train it up

It's not a map as such, but download Compass for Pokemon. Unsure if its on Apple, but its on Android.

It scans your area, and points you in the direction of where to go, plus gives you the time remaining. You can also filter out the common Pidgey, Rattata etc.

Edit: Well nvm, Niantic has changed their servers and the app doesn't work now. Supposedly it will be fixed soon...

Had a weird encounter today, met a Poliwhirl (? not the little one but the first evolve version) and no matter how far I threw the ball, I couldn't touch him. Seriously, I was throwing as far as I physically could and not reaching it.

Not sure if bug or just never encounted a 'mon standing that far away from me.

Wasted like 10 great balls and 20 normals on it before giving up. Don't even know if I was close.

I saw they're reporting the "hard to catch" as a bug now and want to fix it.
Don't care if it was intentional or not but good they're going to change it back.

Got My first Pikachu. Hatched from a 2km egg

470+ Magikarp candy. Will max out my current highest one and evolve it tonight!

Turn AR on + then off and it should appear closer to you

Starmie with 1.1K CP just appeared at my house.

Decided not to catch it because I don't have a lucky egg active and the Staryus I will be evolving will be stronger than that one.

Starmie are like weeds out the back of my place. Have a 1317cp, 1202cp and a 1172cp.

It's a shame they arent that strong in the game. They look pretty sweet.

Magikarp are everywhere now it seems. Got a 1700cp Gyarados and well on my way to another 400 magikarp candy.

Me too, on around 300 towards my 2nd Gyarados. Do they spawn at your house or you just know a spot to go to?

What level are you now btw?

@Finch- Magikarp spawn out the back of my place (can sit in the loungeroom and get a few an hour) or I can head into SouthBank/Kangaroo point etc (anywhere along the water in Brisbane) and they are everywhere.

I am up to level 22 now, will hopefully be level 23 soon!

Just caught an 1100cp Aerodactyl and a Wartortle from my loungeroom. Yeah baby!

All I get from my lounge room are fucking pidgeys, rats and sparrows. :/

still only got about 20 pidgeys to evolve and sitting midlevel 21.

Barely put any effort in now that the tracking sites no longer work and the game itself has zero tracking.

Tracking etc + the bugs with Pokemon fleeing and being harder to catch will be fixed soon
