    Went Fensom to Tolman but just realised Tolman doesn't play round 15.  Should I look at SST or JWH or is Tolman a good swap?

    Makes no sense to me trading Smith out and then bringing him back in. That's 2 trades right there.

    Otherwise just trade him to a keeper and use that extra cash to upgrade a cash cow to another keeper.

    Though I'm basing this on Smith playing this week

    Whoa. That crazy talk last night of trading Smith out.

    That's the kind of stuff you think about going to bed sober and can't sleep. Especially on origin eve.

    Calm down pain.

    HHunt ---> Hurrell
    Fensom ---> Tedesco

    but I have 14 trades left so I won't actually be doing either.

    Haha I also like making up fake trades to pass the time, with 13 trades left my team is going nowhere for a while.

    I need to make 2 trades this week to get 17 players and cash is tight - is it a waste to bring in say Connor Watson for JLJ for the sake of an extra 15pts or should I trade out one of Gillett, Taupau or Ma'u instead?

    Sounds like panic trading mate. I'm only doing one trade Fensom to Tolman but don't want to do a second trade, no point IMO. If Smith doesn't play, I'll have to take Feeny or Ese. Don't see wasting the trade over it.

    I think you are all trading him out because he wasn't named. Seems like everyone is trading him out because he might/will miss 1 extra game than expected.

    If he misses this week Rd 15 & Rd 18 that's 2 less weeks played than Friend in that period. Assuming they kept the same average of 66 (which may or may not happen given Smith could have reduced minutes and Friend scored terribly by his standards last game) that would be 132 points extra at the cost of a trade.  That's ~ 10 points a week between now and the end of the season which correct me if I'm wrong would cost you about 100k if you were to upgrade (say a 40 point player to a 50 point keeper).

    If he plays this week then I obviously wouldn't go through with it but otherwise I'm definitely contemplating it.

    Don't think I could do it, scared I wouldn't get him back. I'd rather try and keep Parcell for round 15 then upgrade to Friend round 16 or something.

    There's nothing saying Smith won't play this weekend either. KBrom at hooker seems weird.

    Its a fair concern but If I didn't get him back I still would have scored those extra points I mentioned (assuming they both continue scoring roughly equal for the rest of the season). Also with Storm playing before the Roosters I wouldn't have to make the call unless I saw him still excluded from the final team list.

    Anyone considering gallen in their final 17 post origin? I'm put off him, he has hurt me in the past, but he a has been very strong this year. I'm also not considering Harris, I feel his prices are inflated for now thanks to some tries. I have 11 trades left, need friend, tedesco and another wfb to go with radradra and I'm happy.

    My big news for the round:
    1) Rippin n Tearin made both the Matty Johns show and the page 51 party!
    2) I managed to successfully implement the (c) loophole securing myself a massive FOUR extra points (ET vs Semi)
    3) I climbed a massive 6543 spots on the rankings therefore confirming just how rubbish I have really been at this game Smile

    Thank you for this.
    You just made me feel a lot better about my 14 trades.
    I haven't made any this week, and hoping to hold off.
    I'll be very surpirsed if Smith doesn't play, but even so, I have Mbye available to take his spot.

    Worryingly for Tark I am also considering the Hasting -> Pearce trade (bye round focus)

    I also need a cash out for PatMat in the C or WFB position. Anyone have any good options? Would obviously prefer someone that is gonna score over the bye period.

    I've gone Hurrell, it's either complete stupidity or genius.

    Edit: I must be overtired, that idea lasted about 5 minutes.

    I think they are remembering his other 10 games where his lowest score is 51.

    Don't know if this has been posted here but Neil Henry on Hurrell:

    "I know he's been used as an interchange player in his last few games at the Warriors but we've recruited him to be a centre so hopefully he can slot straight into that role.

    "Even if he doesn't play in that first game he's with us for nine days and we'll do a number of training sessions in that time.

    "If he needs to do a bit more fitness work or some other testing while we're over there then we've got our strength and conditioning crew over there and the medical team so he'll certainly be in good hands rather than being left on the Coast."

    The reason trading out Smith if he doesn't play and then getting him back in later makes a lot of sense to me. This is the closest I remember the rankings being ever. Normally there are those few success stories of bye planning where someone made up a shit load of ranks. But this round it was like every second player made up 1000's.

    Chasing the bye points this year and hoping for a good run home is a more relevant strategy then it ever has I feel.
