It's a cash out, so not a wasted trade. I'm not bringing a Feeney or Asiata in to get 1 score out of them. You are bringing Copley in potentially?
With Loomer's question, 30 points is the difference between hundreds and hundreds of ranks at the moment. I can bring someone in who doesn't play and is a cash out, but I can potentially get points this round out of that player as well. Said bloke might score a 7, said bloke could jag a brace and score 40. I'll take any points at this stage, why would you not?
Well if you were going to cash the player out anyway, then yes, go for it. Get whatever points you can out of the cash out.
But sometimes holding the trade might be better value than 30 points.
When a 50 point scorer gets injured in round 24, you want to be able to replace him, and not get stuck with some dud being in your 17 because you are out of trades.
You just need to make sure that you get enough cash out to be worth it.
For myself, yes I am considering Copley.
I have Addin Fonua-Blake as a failed cow sitting in my FRF
I was half planning on just letting him sit there for the rest of the year doing nothing. Maybe get a game out of him next bye.
If I trade him to Copley it gives me an extra player rounds 15+18. But only nets me $20k in cash. and wastes a trade doing so. Would let me get Surgess into FRF as DPP. Don't currently have any DPP in my mfront row, so putting someone there will help with future flexibility.
My other options are
a) take the hit this week and cop an AE. Then upgrade Holland to a gun centre in the next couple weeks. Between Aitken, Gutherson, Holland replacement I should be bable to cover CTR every week. That was my initial plan
b) Take a punt on Hurrell. Ideally wait until after a week or 2, just to see what he is like at the gold coast. See if he is actually worth trading him in at all. If he does gun it for the next 2 weeks he could be a cheap gun replacement for Holland. Downside for that is it doesn't help me this week 9and don't make any cash swapping him for Fonue-Blake, so a bit of a wasted trade on that part.
