If the player you've subbed in is one if your reserves then read on -
eg Lets just say Cam Smith is your captain and Josh Hodgson is your other hooker
You can Still swap Smith and Hodgson, as long as you do it before either game kicks off.
BUT - if Hodgson was a reserve, and you swap him for Smith - you will now only have 3 reserves named.
So you will be playing with a team of 16 - and if all those 16 players play, you will not get an AE.
If you manage to name a team with less than 4 reserves (for any reason, not just attempted loops) they will not give you any AEs to make your team up to a full 17.
Your AE could score 200 points, but unless there is a DNP in your named team for him to sub in for, you will get zilch.
So if you are in this situation, make sure that after subbing your captain out, that you give yourself a 4th reserve - someone on the bye, or a red dot player yet to be locked out.
Then your captain can become an AE for this new reserve.
panthercraig got stung by this last bye round, but let us all learn from his mistake.

    Just to clarify

    Say I've got 16 players (12 + 4 reserves) plus Jerome Hughes as a possible 17th player
I make Fifita my VC he scores big
I have Cam Smith as my Captain and want to trade him out to get Fifita's score
I have the R on Hodgson, but can put the R on Jerome Hughes (assuming he's playing) before swapping him with Cam Smith.

    Would this work?

According to Wacko's Whispers neither Halatau or Farah will play on Sunday so ET will start at Hooker and Cherrington will come onto the bench. How that affects his scores I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Munster still in doubt is a worry but I do have Hughes to cover him if needed. I actually want to play Hughes this week considering Manly suck and Hughes will have the benefit of getting ball off JT but I can field a full 17 this week so there's really nobody I wouldn't play over Hughes.

If you have someone in your named 17 that doesn't play, then you'll get an AE. If Cam Smith is the lowest positive score outside your 17 then he will count.

TLT was horrific for me, had 17 Monday arvo down to 14 but hopefully Hughes gets a run for Morgan.

In the first sentence of WW, he says...

Panthers are expected to be 1-17 with no late changes, Mansour and Moylan both played Origin on Wednesday and both could be rested

So basically having $1 each way.

Also if Farah got concussed on Wednesday night, why was he allowed to stay on the field?

Because it happened in the last play of the game

Sau starting for Thaiday, Ese on bench. Gonna have to play Ese to be able to loophole.

It's not worth bringing Sau in now is it? When is Glenn due back?

Also, if Munster doesn't play, I'll sub in Mitchell and then trae to Hughes on Monday if he does play I think. 15 trades and Hughes will play 18 so haven't really lost a player there.

I'm hoping Ese can at least get 30 minutes on the field. The one time he played 30 minutes he got a 34 so, you'd think with the Origin stars and such, 30 minutes would be about right.

Just as a note, there was an article on the Broncos website last week stating that all of our injured players were tracking for a return to the field against the Storm next week.

Might be worth holding off on both Sau and Opciac.

Thinking i might take a chance on Ma'u -> Gallen, i feel like with all this talk about his place in the NSW team he'll work his arse off over the next few weeks, and on the off chance Daley decides to see some sense in dropping him then that'll work just fine for me
