Thinking no trades this week leaving me with 9. Would mean if no Holland I would have to play Guth, but then if no Munster my AE would be JWH or SST. Not too shabby I think. thoughts? Ooh, unless Hardaker plays! Oh dear.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 42
Hi all, was away at the weekend and have been knocked down by the flu since. Just got interested in catching up on the fantasy again today. Lost 48 ranks to 133rd last week with only 15 playing (took the punt on Munster and Hughes playing). Could have been worse. At least my Mooper to James trade paid off, just hope the Mitchell to Hardaker trade eventually pans out for the better as well.

Cheers SI. I would really prefer to see rd18 team lists before I decide my next 2 or 3 trades.

Cheers beast, the more I think the less I'm interested in making that set of trades. Really need some cash in the bank but don't know who to downgrade lol

Am trying to bring Teddy into my backline (I don't believe he will get picked for origin 3).
I can go via Mbye with surplus funds, but if Holland is dropped Mbye gets kicking duties(?) and probably starts to look a 50+ scorer.
My alternatives are Milford (who may play better with Macca, and requires extra cash), or Norman (does he get stood down in a week?).
If I don't trade and Munster doesn't line up, I'll be taking an AE this week (either AFB, Guthers or Cleary)
Welcome mate. How many trades left? Bit of a pickle having the Dogs play tonight, but personally I would be waiting a week. Understand your gut feel on Ted not playing Origin but if he does then you are bringing a bloke in this week who then misses the next 2 games. If that happens it is probably worse then copping the AE this week as you'll lose Mbye's and Ted's points on a big bye round next week.

I like the Parcell trade but am personally hesitant on trading in Hardaker without seeing him play a single game in the NRL.Liverpool_Bulldog wrote:

Is Mitchell > Hardaker and Parcell > Friend a good set of trades? Leaves me with 8 trades and no cash

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 42
Re Hardaker. It'll take him a few games to adapt to the pace & intensity of the nrl. Tomkins struggled a bit too to begin with. Also Griffin stated he's here to play centre & because that's not his natural position it could take even longer. Playing in the front line where you're making more tackles & sprinting up & back to make the 10 is a bit different than f/b where you're just following the ball across the field positionally.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 42
So I assume its been posted given this was an article from yesterday, but Hardaker is expected to play this weekend... Though my biggest doubts aren't about his talent, I'm just not sure I want to bring him in playing centre for the Panthers. FB sure, Centre... mmm dunno.

Yeah agreed.
Think the plan atm is downgrade Mitchell to a nuffie. Use that cash to upgrade Parcell to Friend. Then next week depending on Hardaker and team lists may downgrade Gutherson to Hardaker or a nuffie and stockpile that cash for the run home and leave me with 7 trades.
Sounds very prudent

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 42
Against all instincts I am trading in Friend tonight. Although it is at somewhat of a premium it means a) I get his points this week and b) I can still do another upgrade next week. As mentioned by someome earlier, even if he scores 60 he isn't going to drop that much in the scheme of things

What's the chances of Semi doing a Bobblehead with Hayne beside him when they land?

Evening Gents (& Ladies??)
What's the forum thinking about for captaincy this week? I've still got the C on Smith but am very tempted to put it on Fifita. I've had it on Smith all year and it's gone well as usual, but he was outscored by 5 of my players last week and it was a bit annoying. I probably won't ever go against the golden rule but I was just wondering what everyone else's position was on this.

Have gone Mitchell to Manu this week as my only trade, will wait for Friend next week.
Don't need the headache of having to choose between Friend, Tolman, JWH, Whitehead, Carty, Taylor for 4 reserve spots
