Round 17
Where the fuck are all the donkey supporters talking up the 12 point turn around because of a bunker decision ?

Re: Round 17
We got flogged, but my God there were two of the most shite decisions of the year. The touchie is looking straight at Koro's foot from 5m away. I'm 20 rows back and see he stood on the line. There is a divot on the line for Christ sake. And is someone trying to tell me Vuni, who starts running from the right touchline, and ends up with the ball 2m to his right, hasn't run off his line to interfere with Niko! Please.
Might have only lost by 30 had those calls not gone against us.

Great crowd too. 44519. Surely under 8k between 2 of the highest profile Sydney teams during school holidays indicates what the public thinks of Thursday night Football.

Re: Round 17
re the vuni one, i think re the rule, it was hard for the bunker with their current black and white interpretations to rule it a penalty
i would have been happy for the ref to use common sense and just see that his intention where clearly to push niko away from the ball

Re: Round 17
pretty sure i read that after the bye, broncs have a pretty easy schedule. they should be able to get back on track
there will be a couple of big ins for them after the bye, i'm sure they'll turn this around
raiders will beat the knights, broncs 6th is a shocker after their start (will say 7th but parra will lose their points, so i just disregard them atm ), i think they're probs still most likely to grab 4th but they've given dogs, raiders and maybe even penny a chance

Re: Round 17
It always happens with the bennett bronco teams.
Start off great, die through origin, then come back strong.
Ill shit in my dacks if they arent in the GF.
The Vuni one - No problem with it what so ever.
If cunts are allowed to run blocks all day for their own blokes, the he has every right to shoulder someone away from the ball.
He didnt push him, he is allowed to fight for the ball the way he did. He didnt know where it was going to bounce to - it just so happened to be a good bounce for him. If it bounces the other way Niko gets it.
The Koro one was a shocker. Im actually really sad to see him go to union next year. I never really found melbourne a fun team to watch in the past, but geez these two wingers make them more exciting.

Re: Round 17
Did anyone else notice the forward pass in the Panthers try when the kick went through and turned them around and facing their own line passed it back which in fact was forward and the ref let it go

I hate blockers.
Chasers should be encouraged to barrel into them at every opportunity so the ref's have to start making calls - then maybe we'll get some rules in place to stop this bullshit.
If you're not going for the ball, you shouldn't be roaming brown's cows-like in front of it. They can call "obstruction" at the drop of a hat on an attacking play, ffs!

Re: Round 17
It was blatant; should have been a penalty to us to close the game down, instead they get another try. Glad it didn't decide the game.Your Name wrote:Did anyone else notice the forward pass in the Panthers try when the kick went through and turned them around and facing their own line passed it back which in fact was forward and the ref let it go

Blocker's what ? Blocker's sons pretty ordinary, but Blocker is a legend.

Arm tucked in and shoulder in it in the Dugan hit just there. Are we ignoring that?

I'd like to think we are because I fucking hate the shoulder charge ban.......but I suspect it is more a case of no injury occurred and/or not enough outcry, so the reactive NRL let's that one go.
The one I am astonished didn't seem to get any attention was the Mitchell Pearce shoulder charge.
It was a beauty!

Re: Round 17
Unless it hurts someone or looks bad most shoulder charges are ignored.
I cant even think of a shoulder charge penalty ive seen this year.
The ones I hate are the ones where the winger or fullback come steaming across to try and stop the try and its a blatant shoulder charge - and its never even mentioned.
Its an illegal play that should be a penalty try in that situation.

I'm pretty sure you're allowed to use your shoulder in that situation. I remember being on your side if the argument and then we looked it up and it stated you could.

Really?
So if someone is attempting to score a try, you are allowed to do a shoulder charge?
I dont remember reading that mate!

you're not allowed to do it but they have said that it wouldn't be a penalty try in that situation

Re: Round 17
I read somewhere that it wouldn't be deemed a penalty either. Strange.
