What does the winner get? A trophy? A sash? A new username title?

Re: Draft Game 2016 V2
I remember it like it was yesterday and my ex-ex-ex had a disc fusion in her neck 3 days before. Listened to the 1st half on the way in to see her. Then took her in a wheelchair into Subi to get something to eat. Was checking my phone in the final minutes in the line and when I saw it tick over to 80 I shouted at the top of my lungs. It made my ex-ex-ex jump and she jinked her neck! Everyone was looking at me like I was the biggest cunt on Earth.Archer wrote:He's come a long, long way since then! Though fuck you for mentioning that cursed game! Hurts every time...Honeysett wrote:

I am happy for people to have judged it how it looks on paper now, sounds like most have voted anyway? I will forward votes to Random in a couple of hours.

Can't help but notice the winners of the annual awards haven't received the accolade of having a new user name title

They are more for fun, as is this so I don't want to overwhelm the amount of those title's that are around.

Not a massive fan of the bench, Macca far better starting, can’t see him offering much off the bench, Like Evans and love Vaughan but Ava is middle of the road
Great halves pairing who would compliment each other very well, best part of the side
2 workers at prop but not enough explosion for my liking and not enough off the bench to counteract this! great backrow, love merrin, whitehead and Jackson, good second phase play coming off these
Josh Hodgson is the shining light in this side, he was unbelievable last year I don’t think I have ever seen a rake have that much impact on one team before, especially not in an attacking sense
Great ctr pairing and great wing CTR combo with Boyd and GI, teams would constantly attack the other side and im not sure oates and kata could cope with it but going forward a very good backline
I do like the classy Moylan and his set up play would go well with rest of this backline
Points zero
Honeysett
Best player in the comp, obviously a massive selling point but you cant plonk JT in with Josh McCrone with David Gower running off his shoulder and expect the same results he has achieved with the Boys’ and Aus/QLD
Which is why I very much like the team Honeysett has assembled
Cant argue with bellyache, case and point is cheyse blair and ryan morgan, castaways looking more like the morris twins for the storm rather than johno wright and kiri auva at other teams
Sam, Wade and Luke Lewis is a fantastic backrow, bish bash, angles and guile coupled with a top 2 prop in JBrom and the big hitting Napa
Not a huge fan on the menace but was massive the past year
Peacre would mesh with Jt well and JT is JT…Munster is star and Fergo, Chambers are in the upper echeloen of their respective positions
Good bench with range, Tamou and Blair giving the grunt whilst bird offers injects ball handling skills into the backrow, don’t think Finucane offers enough off the pine
Points 3
Bren
My no2. No.1 behind Tedesco, RTS is unbelievable, massive RM a game always giving constant go forward from the tough positions at the back, coupled with 2 quality wingers in Nofo and Koro! Love the flying Fijian
Jennings has lost a touch but is still a dangerous runner, they don’t get much safer than Jmoz and good CTR pairing!
SJ always in conversation as one of the top players in the NRL, unplayable at times,
Milf…much prefer him in the No.1 spot he is so frustrating because at times last year he was very, very poor with many plays stalling after going down his side, but you just know that at any point during a game he can flip a switch, beat 6 players inside a phone box and score an unbelievable try just isn’t consistent enough from the 6 spot for me
Scott has lost too much for me and just isn’t the same player, I am a huge fan of Big Ben though and a poor year by his standards won’t cloud my judgement on him still being a good front rower in the game
Friend is as good as they come in the hooker spot not named Smith or Hodgson
Can see why Brens thinking having Parker starting with Lolo on the bench because Parker doesn’t offer the same impact as his teammate but I could not have Lolo off the field for any longer than 10-15 mins, too destructive to have sitting on the pine for any longer, has to be starting
Best interchange out of all the teams Klemmer, NAS punching holes and peachy offering his versatility would be frightening
Points 1
Archer
Fantastic backline and the only 1 I could see rivalling the one I assembled!
Rapana and Mansour are beasts, no denying it! They do it all but more importantly they do the hard stuff running the ball back from deep in difficult situations
Holmes is an absolute delight to watch, devastating in open space but hasn’t played at FB properly so unsure of Archer shoving him in the 1 spot, I cant judge what I cant see haha I know he moved around with Barba so wont mark down
A potentially devastating backrow edge pairing in Taupau and Papalii, coupled with the vastly underrated Proctor, great aspect of this team
Norman was unbelievable for the Eels before getting stood down, had him pegged for my 7 spot but AReyns better kicking game edged him, Maloney had a career year. Great pairing
Gurgess was poor last year but on top of his game can be destructive, JWH is immense and a firm favourite, offering everything a topline prop should! Not a Granville fan and a big let down to this pack IMO
Great bench, I think the grub is a very, very good player so props here, spelling Granville, im not so sure it works though, Boyd and Paulo would be huge of the bench! Nice! Tapine offers something different with his great footwork at the line
Almost missed out on the points, because of Gurgess and Granville and you piping about this years form but because of the strength of your bench props to cover you have enough to take second
Points 2
SI
Hayne Plane back in the No.1 and should be back to his best, flanked by Tommie Turbo who is origin and aussie rep bound with the young Fijian freak make for a tantalising back 3 trio
BJ was in career best form and was immense last year, was my no.1 ranked CTR and it wasnt even close! Walker showed he belonged in the NRL with a late debut with some outstanding individual performances in an absolute shit shower of a team, better in the 1 spot than CTR though!
Love this half pairing, Cronk steering the team around, putting them in the right positions with Blake Austin playing off the cuff, exploiting any gaps in the defence!
Fantastic prop pairing and one which knows each other games inside out, helps massively with team cohesion, Graham is brilliant and an absolute workhorse tolman the same!
Farah, still a great player but lost so much to his ego over the last few years
Great backrow, De Belin showed what a defensive beast he was when given the lock spot last year, getting through tackle after tackle, doesn’t offer enough on the offensive side for me though, Tohu Harris does however and elevated his game again last year, he was outstanding and I had him ranked 3/4th for edge rowers, in a tie with Wade. Carty another level again offensively from wide out, showed he can handle 80 mins and also shined when thrust into the starting half spot after injuries hit the panthers again!
Quality bench, Big Kas is a monster and Latu was brilliant for the black cats last year offering more than your standard polar bear charging grunting prop that most teams possess!
Solly still has plenty of gas in the tank and Buhrer offers versatility
Joint third because I couldn’t separate from Bren
Points zero
Mearcats
Fantastic pack!
Capten manreng just doesn’t stop, another fine year from the warriors lock full of non stop tackling and hit ups!
Gillet I had as the no.2 edge rower behind Friz, brilaiint player who is great at both aspect of the game, just look at Ben hunts missed tackle rate when Gillett is alongside him!
Thompson is as solid as the come, did well at the titans before flopping at the tigers and a career resurgence at the warriors over the last few years, plays well off SJ and a rock in defence!
Jake Turbo was a beast for Manly, tackling everything that moved, legs chops everywhere! And great hands for a big man! James was quite simply outstanding and baffles me why NSW didn’t come calling again insane try count from a front rower (thanks for the 100+ fantasy performance big fullah)
CS9 nothing needs to be said
French was fantastic for the Eels and Gutherson did well in an unfamiliar position but neither are in the top 10 for wingers IMO. French may get there this year
Aitken as solid as they come and doesn’t get given enough credit, he isn’t just some defensive centre with limited attacking traits, Croker immense again for the green machine
Morgan is a great 6 with fantastic range but a non existent kicking game which is a shame and fails him here, Cleary was brilliant for Penrith and looks like a star in the making
Bench really lets the team down
Ponga untested, Wallace is decent but doesn’t offer much, Paasi is explosive but error prone, I like Kenny Brom who goes about his business! The Ponga pick baffles me to be honest
A stronger bench and would of pipped 3rd from Bren and SI
Points zero

Ok mate, my votes are as follows.
Random - 139
Bren - 138
Archer - 138
Welshy - 139.5
Honeysett - 141
Standard - 137.5
So, with that in mind 3 points to HS, 2 to Welshy and one to yourself. I'm happy to give me reasoning and breakdown etc following the votes.
- Random's Votes:
- Honeysett - 3 Points
Honestly, I just can't fault anyone in his team. It is extremely well rounded and a capable squad.
SI - 2 Points
A quality side, again struggling to poke any real holes in it. (Other than you know the poor captain choices.)
Bren - 1 Points
Great side through and through, but the consistency would be worrysome.
Welshy -
Foran, Reynolds, and Luke all coming off poor years. As well as a large portion of the squad having injury concerns. Still quite unlucky to miss out on the points.
Archer -
Massive forward pack that would just run over teams. Though the backline leaves a lot to be desired.
Mearcats -
For mine it is a too many young guys, and not even impact players. I like all of these guys and in the future this would probably look like an allstar team, but it just isn't enough.
- Bren Votes:
- Went back through and really dug deep and thought in depth. Can I change votes to as follows...
3 points = Honeysett
2 points = Welshy
1 point = SI
- Honeysett Votes:
- Welshy - 3 Votes
There's not a bad player in Welshy's top 13. His bench leaves a little to be desired but his starting 13 is brilliant.
TopDog - 2 Votes
Too many players that would need to fire all at the same time to be a winner.
Random - 1 Vote
DCE and Hunt, rank. Rest of the team is really solid though. Lack of recognised goal kicker would cost you close games.

Re: Draft Game 2016 V2
If Random had a better prop then Ava on his bench he would have snuck up into 3rd in my rankings. Maybe someone like Prior who has been solid this year.
