Getting a professional contract in the best RL comp in the world is the very definition of a quality player. Where do the 4 better players all end up, reserve grade and bush comps would be better than the NRL if that statement were in any way true. While some who are good enough miss out through injury and off field issues it is nowhere near that number.Mearcats wrote:I'm not sure I'd agree with that at all @Krump. I would almost go as far to say that for every "average" guy who gets an NRL debut there would be four better than him that never get a look in.
Sure, it's easy for me to be an armchair critic and say things like "player x is shit and should never have gotten a debut" or player y should have gotten picked before that guy without knowing all the ins and outs of it but I'm pretty confident in saying that just cos you get an NRL debut, doesn't make you quality.

That would equal out to one teams top 25 with the 4/1 ratio, what about the other 1500 unknown playersMearcats wrote:I'd bet my left testicle (lost the right one making a similar bet) that there'd be 100 incredible players on the islands and up in the NT reserves that'd never get selected.

Note that only 10 pages of that are included on the cap....the rest are illegitimate Third Party Disagreements

Even the worst players in NRL sides are the best players in their own Groups or Comps.
Making an NRL squad, and playing 1 NRL game, means you are a fucking good player.
