OK, breaking the rules a little by posting about non fantasy I know, but its pre season so hopefully the mods will let it slide . Can i just talk about the maroon and yellow turd in the room.

How is it that when other clubs talk about signing players, there is a big "ooooh, better make sure you sign him for market value buddy or we'll come to get ya!" but when Broncos sign someone its "the Broncos only have second tier salary cap space available for 2017, which prevents them paying more than $85,0000 for Sims’ services this year. The Broncos are believed to be making up part of the discrepancy in the 2018 portion of Sims’ contract.". If even a whiff of that is true it's fucked up beyond belief. (Source Article)

1) Sims didn't just fall into their lap, they have been seeking out players hence the news of them getting knocked back,
2) How does not having enough money mean you can pay someone whatever you want and suddenly its not important they get market value
3) Are we really all supposed to believe that yet another player is willing to play for the broncos for a 50c lolly bag at the corner store?

Threw together a team based around the idea of more long term keepers and more Eels/Bunnies players with that news. Managed to come up with this team with exactly $0 left. Doesn't shape up too badly.

We run an ultimate league (there is a thread below this one.) which is a draft and then a few guys ran a draft league in the nrl site last year.

HOK: Have been playing with some King teams lately, gives so much bulk to the rest of the pack. Still do not think I am the man to take the plunge though.
FRF: I'm not sold on Vaughan, feel free to convince me. I just can't see him doing anything he wasn't already doing at the Raiders.
2RF: I agree that SMat is a good pick, but if you think this, then surely he is far more useful to you at CTR? I guess you could always trade him there later on. I just like the safety of thinking he will gun it in a tricky position and give me one less thing to worry about. Plenty of other mid-range talent in the second row this year.
HLF: solid enough, I have had Hodkinson in and out of my team. But lately the Knights seem in such shambles, I don't want to bring any backs in this year so I have gone cold. Could still be a genius move though.
CTR: I like all these undervalued picks individually, but you are already taking a gamble with Idris so why run with Kahu too? They could both stink it up big time in the centres leaving you with little base value to fix the hole. I would move SMat to CTR instead of Kahu and someone like Aloiai (assuming he gets a starting role) into the second row instead.
WFB: All good hear, I really like the French pick. RTS and Hayne just about a must, but most ppl seem to go with Teddy, Holmes or Slater as their third (I chose Holmes myself). French might be a good little POD who plays all bye rounds.

Sorry man, didn't mean to sound overly critical. reading back I sound like a jerk haha. I actually really like your team, is similar to my own (build #17865) in many ways. Good job
