Actually I was considering asking Welshy if he wouldn't mind covering for me. He did so last year or the year before IIRC and all went smoothly.

Don't forget Joondalup, Booragoon, Gidgegannup, Gnangara, Jandabup, Koongamia, Mandogalup and everyone's favourite cockburn.
Ahhh Cockburn. For those who don't know, somehow Western Australian's manage to pronounce it "Coeben". Of the rest, I live next to Joondalup, Gidgegannup is where I would love to settle down, my ex-best mate lived in Koongamia and deadset it is one hell of a scary place.

Massive ask lad to cover my squad for the opening month of the season. Unheard of. Will discuss it with you in the near future though!

Well that basically boils down to whether I play Fantasy or not (in turn whether I can survive the first month of the season which would rely heavily on a caretaker coach). Massive ask for anyone to do so as you know how important those first 4 weeks are, look at the first 4 weeks from last year for example with all the injuries and sub par performances from players like Evans etc.
I can still run the Eliminator without playing Fantasy though so that's not a problem. I'm still gutted after last year as I was so close to actually making it through to the GF in Pandas League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen and potentially winning my own league. IIRC I did win the Minor Premiership however.

Rumours of Charlie Gubb to the cowboys growing louder. If he starts could be very good value. I reckon Green could get more out of him. He only played 5 games of 35min+ in which he averaged 31 in 38 min. If he starts he should easily get that which has him scoring at least 10 more than the 21 at which he is priced. Thoughts?

Would be nice but I doubt he'll start over Bolton and Scott

Is that for 2017? I read somewhere that the Cowboys were initially interested in McLean so that must of fallen through so Gubb must of been 2nd on the list. Gee if Gubb goes & with Matulino out injured the Warriors go forward might struggle. I have big wraps on Sipley so he could get decent game time. This situation just shows what a pack of morons the Warriors management are. They go & buy RTS/Foran when the pack was where the reinforcements were needed & they needed a quality frf & 2fr. It seems to me RTS & Foran were purchased to get more bums on seats & to increase merchandising sales rather than putting the needs of the squad first.

If he starts I would definitely jump on him to start the season.

I wonder if the comp opens this week with Australia Day mid-week? Maybe Friday. Otherwise yeah, will probably be while you are over the Pacific.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 2
How my squad is shaping up. Not many changes from what I initially had awhile back.
HOK: C. Smith (C. King)
FRF: A. Fifita, G. Burgess (S. Matagi, Rookie)
2RF: P. Gallen, S. Burgess, S. Mata'Utia (S. Lane, J. Asiata, Rookie)
HLF: B. Austin, J. Maloney (K. Elgey, B. Hampton)
CTR: D. Whare, J. Idris (C. Scott, Rookie)
WFB: J. Tedesco, R. Tuivasa-Scheck, J. Hayne (B. Slater, A. Uate)
Reserves: C. King, S. Matagi, S. Lane, K. Elgey
Cash Funds: $77 000
So at the moment I have 3 Rookie slots that I haven't necessarily filled at the moment. (Though I am looking at some rookies.)
The weak spot of my team is clearly the HLF's and the CTR's. I feel on the fence about starting with Gallen, and may look at Merrin or Mannering as they are the only other 2RF guns that I would consider starting with this year as the others just are priced to high to take the risk grabbing imo.

Those Centres aren't weak comparatively Random as most will have one or both.

Gubb is a myth with a poor tackling technique, no way hes a starting prop at a top club like the cowboys.

Gday Lad, if you can pop into the Ultimate League thread and have a geez and let us know if you are keen to go around again this year.

Exactly! One of the most underwhelming players I have ever had the displeasure of watching after being hyped.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 2
I've been looking into player's consistency. I just wanted to ask if you guys could give me an acceptable score for each position. For example at Hooker an acceptable score would be 50, that means that a gun like Cam Smith only scored below 50 points once. And Jake Friend 5 times, etc
Looking forward to the feedback
