White Lightning wrote:I know quite a lot of us have K-Brom in our sides based on the assumption that he will take Proctor's spot but the guy who won sc last year & a stats guru who is like Milchy on sc addicts both think that he won't so I'm starting to re-think my selection of him. The argument goes that:
(a) Bellamy prefers K-Brom on the bench as he can play the role of coming on & playing in the middle & edge
(b) K-Brom would struggle to play exclusively on the edge as he's not quite fast enough to defend on the edge for long minutes
There seems to be a 4 guys that are vying for Proctor's spot being K-Brom, F. Kaufusi, NAS & Stimson. If I was to take an educated guess my money would be Kaufusi since Bellamy has played him in the 2fr before & reports are that he has been training there in pre season along withe other options. I could very well be wrong though.
The good thing here is that it should be glarignly obvious come round 1 who the preferred option is for that slot. You'd assume only injury to one or more of the contenders would make you doubt the round 1 starter as preferred.
We'll probably have an idea of minutes, the new guy may play a bit more or less than Proctor, but 60-70 mins a good estimate.
If its not K-Brom then everyone who has him can easily trade him out without cost, nobody will suffer any penalty whatsoever for having k-Brom in their team for the next 4 weeks (in fact the site hasn't even opened, nobody actually has kBrom in their actual team right now). Round 1 team lists are very public knowledge, its not like its going to slip under the radar who gets the starting gig*
K-Brom is a good placeholder, as he's the most expensive. Easier to swap K-Brom to a less expensive player, than to have to find $100k to upgrade Felise Kaufusi if he doesn't get the spot.
* Unless you are a *real* fantasy player and play a draft game and have to pick your team before the comp starts. Then it becomes very important to predict beforehand who will get the spot.

it would make for an interesting comp if your Fantasy squad of 25 had to be locked in prior to TLT Week 1

On this note if anyone is interested in joining the NRL Fantasy Fanatics Leagues for the Ultimate League draft competition (comp run by the SMH) then feel free to sign up here...
Click Me
We need to fill another 4-5 spots - All are welcome to join!
The scoring format is very similar to NRL Fantasy so it doesn't take much to get your head around.

The good thing if F. Kaufusi takes Proctor's spot is he'll get dpp frf/2fr status.

Are they the same real coaches who are too scared to take on more than 12-16 of their friends at a timeMilchcow wrote:

I agree, that was a reoccurring "big call" in the forum last year
Teddy is going to score massive against the Knights... didn't happen
Ryan James is going to hit the century against the Knights... also didn't happen

Make the "big call" here https://www.nrlfantasyfanatics.com/t390-the-big-callsWarriors wrote:
On that list of 1-5 in that order the Cowboys are my pick for 5th. I just think they handle the Origin period slightly better than the Broncoes will. I think there are a number of teams competing for 6th to 8th but I expect to see those three spots made up from three of the Broncoes, Roosters, Eels, Warriors and Rabbitohs.
I think the Titans, Bulldogs and Tigers all regress and miss the 8 (worse than 9th in the Tigers case). And I don't know what will happen to Manly but 1 or 2 key player injuries will really hit their team.

Talking about being scared I don't see you signing up for the Ultimate League draft comp. Do you even have the minerals lad?

Haha my wife would absolutely kill me if I joined another fantasy comp. It's a pass but thanks mate. Last night I was on sc addicts & I cracked up when some guy said "I'm doing sc on my phone as I have to hide the fact from my wife that I'm playing sc again."

Obviously the Knights will struggle over the course of the season but at least going into Rd 1 they aren't sitting in stone motherless last.....
Having said all that, I'll still probably panic and throw SJ into the team!

Batter up, talk about leaving myself wide open Highly doubt I'll even have the time for DT this year let alone a draft comp.Bren wrote:
