Re: 2017 NRL Auckland Nines
Ok @archer this will be my last post on the topic.
From a fan's point of view, If I pay money to go to that, I want to see some good players play, I want every game to be a contest. I didnt go to it, but im watching on foxtel, so basically I have paid to watch the 9's. Thats why I was annoyed with the Raiders side in particular - they sent a team that was no chance of competing.
On to what I said, which annoyed you.
Did they come last in their pool?
No, I was wrong about that. They came second last.
Were they the worst team there?
IMO, yep - with honourable mention to the warriors and souths. Their last two games were a disaster. They looked fucking terrible, no where near good enough to compete with the other sides.
The Raiders had the worst for and against.
Without looking it up, I dare say that they scored the least points this weekend.
They were 1 of the 2 teams held to 0 in the pool games.
They had the worst loss of the pool games, almost the worst loss of all time.
They had the biggest score put on them in the pool games, almost the highest of all time.
In the last game their completion rate was less than 50%.
Pretty pathetic wouldnt you say?
I never said they wouldnt win a game, so you can blow up about that all you want - thats all in your head.
They did better than what I thought they would though from a win/loss point of view though, yep.
I hope we can put this behind us and move forward as internet forum friends.

I thought you had to drop the ball to deliberately kick it? Not just drop it then kick at it?Honeysett wrote:What a try from Gela-Mosby!

Ponga's step reminds me of RTS so much.
Imagine RTS footwork and speed with some added ballplaying ability.... holy dooly, thats what ponga is looking like he could develop into.

Especially if Lamb develops into a dominant kicking half. The pair could play really well off of each other.

Played some aqua golf, spent an hour or so it Playtime (New version of Timezone) with master 8. Now sitting in the aircon of the sports bar with the big screen and what looks like a bunch of players who I don't recognise at Panthers Leagues club.

I think we're a large step behind the development level of the Panthers with their juniors but there's plenty to like about our future if we can just get it all together.

Aqua Golf is out the back of the leagues club. You're on the pavement and chipping shots into targets on the water.

It's great value. It's $8 for a bucket of balls, but you go to reception first and tell them you want to play aqua golf and they give you a couple of 2 for 1 vouchers.

Re: 2017 NRL Auckland Nines
from what I have seen so far, Connor Watson has just about been the best player this weekend
the aus 7s union team should have a look at some of the players from this weekend, they could use some speed and creativity

Looks like the roosters wasted their money on keary - watson should be their current and future 6.
He could be a great compliment to pearce.
Latrell Mitchell is a beast, get him in the origin team this year please.

Latrell is still carrying some off season weight as well in the wrong places, as mentioned yesterday. Keary is way down the pecking order all of a sudden; they wont even fit Matterson in the 17 will they?

Re: 2017 NRL Auckland Nines
yeah he is, being a young bloke he will work that off pretty quickly you would think.
Unless matterson is all of a sudden a back rower, I cant see him making the side.
Copley must be gone - with mitchell taking his place in the centres.
Watson and keary... jeez.. I would be starting the season off with watson and keary on the bench. If a guy like watson isnt getting much of a run, Im sure there would be plenty of clubs looking for a young 6 that looks pretty good!

Re: 2017 NRL Auckland Nines
SJ and Hayne got paid appearance apparently. There was one or two others mentioned but can't think who they were.
Fifita maybe refused? Just a guess.
