their team, full of first grade players looked entertaining and exciting and are comp favs.

The raiders looked better than what I thought they would, yep, but still, souths also looked pretty bad and still should have won that game. Its still disgusting that stuart has sent fuck all good first grade players, didnt even play sezer and austin played for like 2 mins

congrats on them for winning their game tho Smile

Nobody suggested the cowboys wouldn't do well, on the other hand the raiders were "pathetic", "easily the worst" and "wouldn't win a game" all seemingly because they didn't name a lot of regular fgers. Coffee

yep I said it was pathetic to not send fg players
yep I said it was easily the worst team named

however I never said they wouldnt win a game
I said the team will be terrible, which it was, and that they will come last in their pool - which still might happen. Maybe not.

they are off to a good start after though being gifted that win by walker, good on them
they might get a few more wins too when teams start resting their good players later in the tournament

Warriors not playing as a team on attack at all. All playing like a bunch of gloryhunters.

They look like they just expected to throw Johnson into the team, put a few mobile forwards who haven't actually learnt to make some decent metres and want to offload every chance, along with a bunch of quick backs who just want to run down the sideline rather than take a hit and do some gruntwork and they would coast through. Johnson goes down and they lack any sort of direction, noone wants to take ownership of the team and no one want to just do some basics and make a few metres. They all seem to think that every tackle is the last

Yep, no direction at all. Tui is the only one who really looks like he wants to create and his options of running at the line and jinking away and around is very predictable.

i expected nothing less from a Kearney coached team.

The warriors will be interesting to follow this year as Kearney will be all about D with a basic up the middle attack that will rely on 4th and 5th play spreads through SJ and Foran doing something special. How long some of the Warriors can play that style will determine how successful they are

yep but at the same time the rest of the team aren't helping him out. should be clear simple message, Tui is playmaker you do what he says and let him have the ball when he asks it, don't throw it to someone else from dummy half and have them jink on the spot, run 5 metres till the line comes up, do another jink and then throw to tui when he has no space to run at pace.

look at how the eels run it, you play similar game plan to a traditional game but chance your arm a bit more and then went Norman asks for the ball in the playmaking slot they fucking give it to him.

Yeah that's the thing, I don't think there was any clear leader on the field calling for the ball and no tactic in terms of "Give it to Tui" or "Give it to Ata".

which in theory works though. the problem I see with that game plan for the warriors is the up the middle attack. Too many times last year to me it seemed like the Warriors just gave up trying to make yards. If you don't make enough yards up through the middle you force SJ and Foran to overplay there hand or they give the opposition too much field position control when the 4th tackle takes place on your 25 metre line.

The defence is similar in that regard in that for the past few seasons it has appeared to me as if the Warriors play a very slow defensive line compared to other teams. I don't mean they need to jam up and in on every play and rush out but it often seems that the opposition seem to have many more 10m+ runs and get a standard 50m set going without anything special as the defense kind of comes up then waits for the collision rather than forcing it at any stage. Perhaps it is a fitness issue at the Warriors as multiple times in games they go through periods of giving up far too many easy metres, then having to work from their goal line, only making it to the 30 before kicking long and repeating the same process
