Interesting line-up I don't think it's exactly how they'll line up come Round 1 so could be a few changes still to come e.g that plodder Myles offers nothing off the bench so will probably start.

Geez imagine being a team where Jono Wright and Akuila Uate are your first choice centre/wing pairing. I can't remember if Walker plays right centre though he tends to pop up everywhere but still just the fact those two are in first grade at all.

I'll make your decision a whole lot easier. I selected Klemmer in a draft game so no doubt the KFP curse will kick in and his scores will drop. HTH.Mighty Fishes wrote:Klemmer or Macca?

I still think that Kennedy on the bench will out score Sironen starting

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 5
Im all over Winterstien if named round 1
Can someone talk me through the Broncos pack? Over the final 5 weeks how did they line-up and what minutes did each get? Im going to assume at this stage McGuire slips into Parkers minutes, Sims takes most not all of Mcguires mins, Blair, Macca, Thaiday, Gillett stay the same, i also think Glenn picks up the min Sims doesnt cover of Mcguires. So who picks up Wallace minutes?

@Welshy - Not sure on Sia's minutes this year, there was an article earlier this year saying he expects to play a bit of a mixed role just like last year, but primarily at lock. Unfortunately (for fantasy purposes) we have a somewhat versatile pack so i can see it changing from week to week depending on opponents and injuries.
How Taylor is used and whether Ricky wants to give anyone else more minutes (I think Boyd only averaged 35 last year, I'd be giving him more) will have a big impact but I'd say he will probably average 55-65min for the first half of the year at least.

Macca has the higher ceiling
Klemmer averaged 48 playing lock, think he caps at 50 so 45-50
Macca is minute dependant 45-55 I reckon

Thanks mate, love Solly big worker and can find the line, reckon he is a fair bit of value if he can play 60 mins in the middle!

Yeah pretty much, though Sims will start the season on the bench and wont play as many mins as mcguire did. Bennett will reward a young prop with the starting gig. Whether that continues into the season will be up to them.
Pangai jnr will pick up some more mins this year, probably 30-35.

DWZ injured his knee at training and needs an op. Out for the first 3-4 rounds according to early reports.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 5
I can't believe how much he adds to the team in terms of leadership but my issue with him in fantasy would be consistency in minutes, he might average out ok, but looking at last year there were some games he played 30min some he played 80 (and actually he had much lower minutes in the last half of the year). Looks like he averaged just over 50min last year, but that includes when he was injured and minutes obviously suffered so not enough incentive for me. Love the guy though.

I wonder if Barnett being named at lock with Buhrer at 2nd row will have any fantasy significance. I don't recall where Barnett played last year I'd assumed it was on the edges but the stats seem to possibly suggest otherwise, so maybe its no difference?

He was playing 80mins last year on the edge but at his price I don't think i'd risk him. Doubt he'll play 80 even that massive motor and tackling ability

Cheers MF. Hmm, onto others from the team list in that trial then, since i have very little knowledge of how this Knights team travelled last year (wasn't one i went looking for replays). Stockwell has popped up at number 15, looked like he scored ok last year but there wasn't a lot of games to go by. Did he pick up an injury or was just dropped?

Buyer beware with Newcastle, our team will change and change rapidly. The focus will be on juniors and our development. Trying to pin point minutes and trends won't work for a team that will be experimenting.

Yeah, and it was during byes so those who couldn't get rid of him picked up points.
