Got an idea for a more customised draft. Anyone familar with NFL fantasy might have heard of "keeper" or "dynasty" leagues. Basically a keeper league is where you keep a select number of players each year before redrafting the rest of your roster. Dynasty leagues are where you keep your entire roster and have a "rookie and free agent draft" of the remaining players. I'm thinking if we got 8 interested dedicated coaches we could do something like this with NRL players. Ideally everyone would get a 7 million salary cap and we would conduct an auction for players. Probably need an independent person to run this auction. The amount you bid would be locked in as that players salary for X number of years(eg if 2 players bid the same amount for the same player the coach that offered the highest number of years would get that player, capped at 5 years). If still drawn after that there would be a rebid between the 2 coaches. Could run it as a full 25 man roster although we would need a system in place for free agent. It sounds a bit confusing but happy to answer any questions. Anyone interested?

Nearlysport.com runs an auction system. The scoring system is like VNRL/the bench so nothing like fantasy/supercoach but you could potentially use it just for the auction then run the scoring manually.

That's a given. I won't low ball you and I wouldn't expect you to be the sort of person to do so either. Obviously there would need to be some discussion / counter offers to ensure both parties are happy. I think we can achieve a fair trade/swap for both of us.

Shame @SauceReed @ryno_ and @Mearcats aren't on. Could smash through a round.
