I agree mate. Prior only got big mins at the end of 2016 because Tagataese was injured. I also believe D. Saifiti could be a trap because the Knights will be like the Warriors re their front row rotation. Both back rows for the Warriors & Knights play big mins at least 70+ which leaves 4 props rotating 160 mins. Wallace looked like a slug yesterday. He looked like he's stacked on the weight & looked slow & not very mobile so I can't see him playing lock. Gurgess looks like he'll only get 40-45 mins & he wasn't very impressive. I am also thinking Vaughan is a trap as well & will only get 40-45 mins especially if McInnes becomes an 80 min hooker. Some of the mid range options which looked promising are now looking like traps.

The thing is, everyone has to take a punt somewhere, unless you stack with two guns and there become more options that you can flirt with in the backs, but everyone will have to take a punt somewhere. Gurgess I wouldn't say is a trap like the rest, he is a proven gun, it's just up to him if he can put it back out on the field. I'm running with Gurgess and DSaifiti and probably will stick with those two.

I hope so mate but there seems a few are in front of him. Sipley has a lot of potential but just needs to get decent mins.

    Sharks hookers stats

    Brailey 50min 34 points = 0.68ppm, 35Tck, 1Pen, 2 runs for 5m(0.5pts)
    Brown 30min 16 points = 0.53ppm, 16Tck, 1MT, 3 runs for 13m(1.3pts) and 14m in kick (0.7pts)

Note: theses are not official stats, just my observation during the game.

Actually, looking now, JWH looks like a solid option around the same price also. At least you know he'll be the biggest feature in the Roosters forward pack.

35 tackles is pretty damn solid for his playing time.

Seemed that Gurgess had three stints, probably to work on his fitness levels (came off around 23rd min, back on to start second half, off around 52-55th, then back on for last 10 mins of game). Looked like a good hit out for him and he got through plenty of work. Should only get better from here.

I was well off the Gurgess train early season but I think i've come around.

Ouch I'm already running with Wallace and Gurgess. Might as well call my team Admiral Ackbar if I run with Prior as well but hey this year there's no real big standouts anyway so might as well have some fun and roll the dice.

I think its inevitable that you'll have to run with a potential FRF trap.

I'm leaning towards giving Gurgess apunt.

But whatever happens I really doubt I'll start with Prior

godammit, it makes other areas so much easier to solidify by running with a cheapie hooker. Brailey will probably make 50 tackles in rnd 1 too because the broncos just pump it one out up the middle every set Crying or Very sad

Makes a HUGE difference to the whole structure of the team.

For his price and what we know he can do, I don't see how there is any downside on putting him in. If he flops again, then so be it, but all the signs are there.

I could drop DSaifit, put Gurgess starting and have two cheap front rowers I guess, that might free up other areas. Maybe having both DSaifit and Gurgess might bite me in the ass if they both fail.

I haven't seen Kyle Turner mentioned much on here. He's reasonably priced @ 350k & I thought he was one of Souths best yesterday plus he's an 80 min player. Did anyone see wackos tweet last week that said during the season Surgess & Turner will rotate positions during games. I assume this infers that Surgess is going to play 80 mins so they'll give him a bit of a rest on the edge during some games. It also means Turner may get 15-20 mins at lock. The only downside I see with Tutner is possibility of injury. Thoughts.

I agree Turner was one of Souths better players yesterday.

Personally think he's too expensive to take a punt on fantasy wise though. Not enough potenital upside.

I thought Sam Burgess was largely anonymous yesterday too. Probably still start him due to byes

turner would need to become a 45 point player to be worthwhile. not impossible but i have my doubts.

blaw 316k however could be a better alternative to gurgess. he has a nice ppm, and is likely to increase mins with lussick out for a bit. he got that ppm as an impact player. not sure how that will translate if his minutes increase. but you would assume he gets anywhere from 40-50mins.

I'm a big fan of BLAW but will he maintain the starting position. if he can do that and get the mins, he will score well.

So Turner played 23 games in 2016 so only missed 3 games (I think it's 26 rounds in season) so it seems his neck problems are getting better. Priced at an average of 36.9 & if he spends say 15-20 mins at lock playing 80 mins he could raise that average to over 40. We're all searching for that consistent mid range option & he could be 1 of the better ones due to being guaranteed 80 mins.

Cheers. Flanagan has given him a wrap now:

"I thought he was outstanding," Flanagan said.

"To come into an environment like this in front of a full house in a World Club Challenge and make your debut in the middle, it's a fair ask.

"He hasn't played NRL before, he's come out of the 20s system.

"He is going to be a good player and playing against Test footballers in that environment is going to be good for him."

I'm keeping an eye on the cheapie hookers... but playing it safe by starting the season with Smith and McInnes with the option to downgrade McInnes to a cheapie hooker IF any of the cheapies start scoring enough points (45+)

Even so if McInnes starts avg close to 60 I'll probabloy hold onto him
