Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 7
I seem to recall Rein being spelled last year at times by a backrower, was it Marketo? Does he get a bench spot with Matthews out, and potential to take minutes off McInnes?

Actually it seems Marketo started at hooker a few times and Rein played off the bench. What's the deal there and any chance it happens again?

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 7
I predict Mccrone will start the year at halfback, dragons will get spanked with no utility.
After 6 weeks Field will come into the halves and McCrone will play off the bench for 20-25 minutes a game.

And then after they continue to get spanked for the next 6 weeks?

I predict Jai Field will do a Tedesco and look promising for half a game before doing his ACL.

I predict that even if they start with Jai Field from round 1 - the dragons will still be rubbish.
Have seen no evidence that field is the answer to their woes.

Rein wont be taking any minutes off McInnes. You can put that down as fact.mulvy wrote:I seem to recall Rein being spelled last year at times by a backrower, was it Marketo? Does he get a bench spot with Matthews out, and potential to take minutes off McInnes?

I've heard rumours that L5 is going to be renamed to L51

And if Marketo is taking minutes off McInnes, the Dragons have bigger problems than whether or not to play Jai Field

Who offers better value for money. Kenny Bromwich or Bunty Afoa?

Not sure if joking or not, the concern was Marketo or any other player for that matter, I am aware Rein is no longer there.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 7
Think the most likely player to take mins off McInnes is McCrone by way of Field coming on at half.
Though I think the dragons will need McInnes on the field as much as possible so at most i am hoping for a 10 min rest for him

Bunty if Bodene (or Hoffman, but that seems to have been squashed) is out for an extended period. Otherwise Kenny

If you go twin cam and Brailey hits 35-45 scores regularly. At what point do McInnes owners decide that the brailey cash potential is too much to ignore. You have set and forget hookers but the object of the early rounds in this game is too make as much money as you can as quickly as you can, and brailey fits that's bill for me. Who else has the potential to make money in the early rounds
I personally am going brailey and Gallen if brailey stinks it up or seggy emerges or some other issue affects him I will sell Gallen for McInnes, I have 50k play in price difference, and then pick up the cheapest 2nd rower who is emerging as a cow.
I think buy doing this I am effectively buying myself 2 weeks to look at brailey and McInnes scores, plus insurance on braileys low scores plus I get 2 weeks look at a cheap second rower.
If brailey goes gang busters then I won't sell Gallen.
My approach is exactly the opposite, I can sell McInnes for Brailey and use the cash to upgrade other areas of my team as well.
I run with McInnes for a few reasons, I think he's slightly undervalued and I think he will post some 60+ fantasy points early, which will hopefully help me climb the rankings early on while everyone is trying to sort out their teams and get the right cashcows in.

Hmmm you'd be brave to bother to trade in Brailey unless he's averaging 45+. But to do that you'd need to pull the trigger after rnd 1 or 2 or else he will be priced too high already anyway. And then you have to trade him out again eventually to upgrade him to a gun. 3 trades on one player.
I am still up in the air on starting with McInnes or Brailey but leaning McInnes still. I missed out on the Garvey cash train last year due to having Smith and Hodgson (surely Brailey doesn't score as well). But i also have bad memories about being stung by Scott Moore.. its a decision that I feel is make or break.

If Brailey starts hitting 45 then you drop whoever you have and bring him in.
The low likelihood of Brailey hitting 45 is why you should be hesitant to start with him.

from what I have seen and heard about Field, he is nothing but a speed machine.
He might be better used darting out of dummy half against tired forwards at the end of each half !!

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 7
I started with Cherrington last year, went to Garvey in Round 2 and then promptly made a swap to Parcell. Luckily had a pick of a few options to make up for my initial failure but this year doesn't seem like there's as many options to work with but you never know.
McInnes is so tempting but my 2RF looks crap when I run with him. Instead of JDB I put Wallace there and have Felise Kaufusi in the FRF. Not much difference I guess but I trust the cash making abilities of Brailey over Kaufusi. I mean a 50 minute HOK could be pretty busy in defence but an 80 minute back-rower would register more attacking stats. Tough choices I say
