every team will do this. you will get a 'next in line' style 18-21 including a forward, back, utility/half/etc. Coaches will try cover their bases just so they don't have to request 'special permission' from the nrl if there happens to be an injury in training in the next couple of days.

Probably he did - but the majority of fantasy players will be surprised by it. Not everyone is online 20 hours a day searching for fantasy news like us losers.

What a joke, this 22 rule is. Take into account teams injury/suspension list and it's essentially their Tier 1 squad with a couple of tier 2's to fill the gaps who will never get a call up this early in the season . You can almost pick 1/2 the sides down to 17

Can't believe Gubb starting. He's so average. No one appealing from Warriors forwards as I'm not going Mannering and others all uncertain minutes injury cover or drop out of 17

Yeah the only improvement is that a star player can't be a last minute, out of the blue inclusion.  But then they may be named in the 18-21 for weeks before playing.

The NRL will point to it as evidence of cracking down on betting etc but anyone that has more than cursory glance at it can see it does nothing.
