Getting Gurgess instead of ET and leaving him on the pine gives me 97k spare to work with if I need to grab someone after rd1

    Final team.

    Smith, Brailey
    DSaf, Kaufusi, Yates, I Papalil
JDB, Gallen, KBrom, Peachey, SMat, JWallace
    SJ, Lamb, Elgey, Field
    Talakai, Idris, Kelly, Moga
    Teddy, RTS, Hayne, Cotric, Phythian

    My reasoning behind the team.
Keepers - Smith, JDB, Gallen, SJ, Teddy, Peachey (CTR)

The CTRs I've gone budget af because the last couple of years I've over spent in this area and don't get a lot of return on the money that I spent so I have tried to get 4 cows, let's face it not all of them will be good, and then trade out the shit ones and trade up to the better ones that come along. If they all tank I can move Peachey and/or SMat into the centres as cover.

The FRF is a little hit and miss, DSaf I feel is a safe choice and will improve by being a leader in the Newcastle pack. Kaufusi is a risk, however with Melbournes stocks running low I'm hoping that Cronk goes to him as the faux Proctor for that short ball close to the line.

Gallen is a POD and without origin hopefully makes it through most of the year, he's a risk of injury but you know he will try make it through the game at the very leasy and you could trade him out without too much fuss.

Legit captain choices with Smith (duh) JDB, Gallen, SJ and Teddy if I feel like being ballsy (it won't happen)

Locking in my team now. I'm happy with it and won't be changing it .... oh but what if I just try this out......................

I don't feel comfortable with Brailey in my team at all but I just can't be left behind if he starts making serious cash

I'm having fits deciding between Cartwright+Gutherson or Dugan+ET

Cartwright isn't likely to improve all that much although his tackling looked much improved during the all stars game. Gutherson definitely has some upside in the halves but not sure how long he lasts there with Fogarty lurking around.

Dugan only scored 2 tries last year and is capable of some monster scores. A little under priced due to games at centre and is a genuine POD option(hadn't seen him mentioned until SI did on the last page). ET is a little under priced due to concussion and games off the bench.

This decision is going to give me headaches all day

So I am curious as to what everyone feels are their PoD Guns. Essentially who are the guns do you guys have locked in, that you don't feel are talked about often or at all and think it is likely you are one of the only people with them?

For mine it is J. Bromwich and P. Gallen.

The fact you finish with 7 fit players maximum at the end of each year and still make L2 is truly remarkable.

Just trying to lock in my 4th 2rf spot with similar questions

    Bateman, Afoa or Kenny Bromwich.

I have Nathan Brown, but if Gurgess was about, could be downgraded to him and update this spot

PS I caved and now have Smith again

Tthere's almost zero chance Brailey starts putting up Lichaa/Garvey type scores

Des has his hookers play a specific role in his game plan which basically involves tackling for 80 minutes.

Brailey won't be doing that and he won't be playing 80 minutes.

I am also starting to play with not having Smith. Last year most people who went without him regretted it because most of the other options all got injured in the first few weeks - Lichaa, Seggy, Peats.

But Jake Friend outscored Smith over the first 10 rounds, and if you want him instead you were laughing. I have the feeling McInnes might go pretty well to start the year too.
Smith+McInnes sort of kills my other forwards, so I am so very tempted by Smith/McInnes + brailey

Ive seen a few teams here with Gallen it it, and i have JBrom in my team.
Personally i think Cronk will go better this year without Green and have locked him in.

Here's my team as it stands for what its worth

    Smith, Brailey
    JBrom, Wallace, Kaufusi, Yates
JDB, Taylor, KBrom, SMat, Siro, Stone
    Cronk, Norman, Lamb, Elgey
    Talakai, Idris, Green, Cotric
    RTS, Hayne, TTurbo, Sule, Phythian

Going cheap in the ctr position as i have SMat and TTurbo to cover if there are any busts.

With the lack of FRF and 2RF cows I was forced to downgrade McInnes and grab Brailey. The extra 330k does wonders to fill out a struggling position

Forgive my intrusion, but how are SMat or Turbo cover.

It seems that if you removed either of them from their current positions then either your WFB or 2RF become shit
