For Hingano owners/potential owners: I haven't caught up on the thread so this may be a double post but Warriors/Kearney press conference at 11:15am (NZT) should hopefully provide a bit more clarity on Foran's shoulder.

Reading between the lines (mostly based on comments by Jim Doyle) it is looking more and more likely that Foran won't be ready by round 3 and it will more likely be 4 or 5 at the earliest but potentially later as well.

Hinging looking likely to get more game time than first though and while I only watched the first 40min of the game, I thought the way Hingano was used was pretty positive for Fantasy owners. He looked pretty active and it seemed clear the idea was to take pressure off SJ (perhaps more than most thought preseason anyway).

On the plus side for the Warriors and Foran I just listened to Graham Lowe on the radio and he is a good mate of Foran and believes he is a really good mental space right now and looks incredibly determined to make his mark this year. Lowey said from a Warriors point of view it shouldnt really matter if Foran comes back round 3 or 8 o whatever it is, so long as the Warriors have gotten their shit sorted in the off season and "all their ducks in a row". He reckons Foran will make a massive difference when he does come back and even if its round 8 the Warriors should be in a good position by then anyway.

If he plays 4 he should get it.

I think they were just suspicious of a last minute switch for final teams and him not playing even 1 game at centre.

I'm pretty sure almost everyone will trade him in when he moves back to the forwards in any case - if last week was any guide he'll drop too much cash and be too tempting.

Definitely feels too much of a luxury trade I'll admit but i only didn't go McInnes pre season as I thought we could see mccrone to hooker and field to halves for 10-15mins. Not so, so now I'm already regretting.

Might just cross fingers Madge keeps playing cook and Farah together

    Thanks for the update R&T
I'm glad I took the punt on Hingano, I also think he'll improve with a bit more game time.

Smith owners are you captaining him this week. The weather in Auckland atm is shocking & the forecast is it won't improve by Friday. So it's going to be the same as it was against the Bulldogs where he just tackled & had no attacking stats.

Thurston and Morgan will both be on Origin duties. Bowen and GGM are specialist outside backs. Lets ignore that fact that GGM won't play first grade because he can't defend. Bowen is first man up if there is an injury at centre or wing. Ponga is first man up if the injuries are halves/fullback

Only have $9k in the bank, and that is probably the only trade that doesn't seem a complete waste.

Just thinking I might need a bit of a war chest in the coming weeks.

Sit tight. I picked KBrom expecting a 40 average and making 60-70k. He scored 40 with no attacking stats

I know the "buy low sell high" and "don't chase last weeks points" motto's and completely agree with them for the most part. But the sooner you get a gun into your team the more value you get out of them for the season. I mean lets say Thompson scores 50 for the next two to three weeks and we get no dud score, could he go up to say 480k- 500k on the back of that 90?

That means if i could free up the cash and turn JHW into Thompson (switch Wallace up to FR) , ride him for those 2 -3 weeks and then sell and change him into McInnes or Jbrom etc etc. Sure, its burning some trades and I realise one bad score and it all turns to the smelly sticky stuff... but its worth thinking about (as i said, you don't have to pick Thomo, i just picked the first in the list).

I can see some potential with this.

Keary could be a good candidate for this sort of strategy.

4 of the 6 teams they have coming up should provide plenty of attacking opportunities for the Roosters, and his combination with Pearce was looking pretty good.

Priced at 340k with a score of 70 odd to live off could provide a big boost

I don't see hingano as a decent cow, watching the game I think he isn't ready but hey I'm no coach.

As soon as you put a cow in the hooker position you will need at least 2 trades to get a gun in there. I'm still not convinced whether Farah or McInnes is the ideal second hooker.Farahs 57 without a try is easily 70 with.

Would it be madness to trade Elgey out for Jacks? I just realized Elgey is simply an expensive cash cow and that I would never want to trust him in my 17. Hingano looks like a hold for now and Jacks could offer some bye coverage. The extra dosh might come in handy too. Legit?

Yes kind of, it looks like to me as elgey was doing more of the kicking and maybe jacks was targeted as he was the new guy. Maybe his tackle count drops and elgey improves. But that's just my gut

Considering this trade after team lists

Phythian out, Cotric to WFB(no more CTR/WFB switcharoo), Sione to CTR, Stimson in with Kaufusi replacing Sione as a reserve and Sione replacing Cotric as a starter. Can probably wait a week to see how Stimson scores/if he is gonna get minutes. I have a feeling Stimson will end up grabbing the edge role with KBrom back to the bench when JBrom gets back

Bad start for me. 727, and I'm not happy with the team. I went past JDB, Ted and McInness and reckon I'll pay for that in the long run.

I had Koro as my 2nd hooker thinking this could be his year at nailing down a full time hooker gig. I think it is a mistake after seeing the way he was used, and performed, last week. With the addition of Cullen to the bench, along with Brown, I'm biting the bullet and downgrading him to Pritchard, who it looks like is being given the opportunity to establish himself as the Eels 80 minute hooker. It frees up enough cash to bring Norman into my halves and move Walker to FB. I'm still carrying Pythian now though, but figure he can wait.

    Looking at;

    Koro > Pritchard
    Tia Maria > Norman

    Team after those trades

    Smith, Pritchard
    McGuire, Vaughan, Kaufusi
    Surgess, Bromwich, ET, Bateman
    Norman, Jacks
    Turbo, Smat
    Walker, Hayne, RTS, Suli

I.Papalli, Kaufusi, Yates, Hingano, Fogarty, Idris, Kelly, Pythian - 18k.

Now watch Koro score 60 against his old club.

As a NPR he will do... and currently Hingano (+9k) is doing better than Field (-10k) & Elgey (+4k) as a cash cow

I already own him... is he worth trading in this round if you don't have him? probably not, for most fantasy coaches there are better options out there in the WFB/CTR position.
