Maybe they're trying to distance themselves from the official renegades league after the rd1 flogging we gave them.

To give renegades their due they always start strong in round 1 as a group so I'm surprised they didn't do so well.

I don't post in Renegades at all but I did see a thread on there a couple of weeks ago which said one of the key guys did a runner with 15 grand that a group of them had raised to get some proper web dev done for their website.

Not that I want to go off-topic but out of curiousity how did this forum start? Honestly, I just assumed this was created after sportal dissolved or whatever happened there (which I don't know). I used to be a member there, not a known one, barely posted (just went in a few leagues).

Fire alarm went on in the NZ v SA cricket test & now the ground has been evacuated. The players, crowd & commentary team all had to leave the ground. I've never seen that before.

Essentially this forum was created as a sportal replacement.

Sportal the company at some point decided that they weren't interested in running a forum any more and basically stopped maintaining it.
People could still post there and stuff, but no one was doing any admin, there weren't many mods and a lot of the ones that did exist were crap, and those that should have been mods weren't

The forum started having issues and downtime more frequently, and because the owners didn't care, it would take forever to get fixed up.

Eventually sportal sold out to/rebranded as Sporting News and the sportal forum went from unreliable to non-existant

The above happened over the course of a year or 2, so there was plenty of time to get this forum established and advertise it to most of the regular members/visitors to old sportal.

Now things generally run a lot smoother and the place is generally dickhead free.
