Anyone remember the game Souths played against the Broncos in Perth 4 or 5? years ago. Field was terrible for drainage, proper puddles everywhere. Souths put a kick in which would of normally gone 20+ metres dead but landed on the full in the ingoal in a puddle and stopped, think it might of been Wesser that came through and put his hand on it for a try. Hilarious stuff

Sportal the company at some point decided that they weren't interested in running a forum any more and basically stopped maintaining it.
People could still post there and stuff, but no one was doing any admin, there weren't many mods and a lot of the ones that did exist were crap, and those that should have been mods weren't
The forum started having issues and downtime more frequently, and because the owners didn't care, it would take forever to get fixed up.
Eventually sportal sold out to/rebranded as Sporting News and the sportal forum went from unreliable to non-existant
The above happened over the course of a year or 2, so there was plenty of time to get this forum established and advertise it to most of the regular members/visitors to old sportal.
Now things generally run a lot smoother and the place is generally dickhead free.SI wrote:Random created Fanatics in mid 2015 as a back up for Sportal when admin abandoned Sportal. Thank fuck for that! A few of us had most contacts for the Sportal posters and MF/Honeysett/Milchy/Bren spammed the fuck out of Sportal to link to here. And here we are
I still have a screen grab of MF's spam on my lappy, will post later if I remember.
Thanks for that info guys.
I was happy to stumble across this forum, since I couldn't find much NRL fantasy discussion, and I wasn't going to sort through facebook spam. So cheers to Random for making this, and you guys for helping make it work.
I was nononotorious on Sportal. I would have joined it around 2009 give or take a year.
Oh wow, didn't realise that.

Yeah, my mate and I were taking turns of 5 minutes each under The Shed roof cos it was packed out. Was at the other end of the field to us that Sandow try.
Best part of that night, one of my crazy exes rang me when I was driving home soaking wet and and asked if I wanted to stop in for a shower cos it's like over an hour to my place from NIB. Nothing like angry ex-sex

I remember the name nononotorious. It's hard to keep track of all the name changes over the years.
I had forgotten that Random used to be Paramatic (but my memory has been jogged now). I still get mixed up between quicksand and blueoz.
I miss Standard Issue, but I like Bren more than that Kung Fu Panda dude.

Yeah that standard-issue bloke went allright.
I was recently going through those old groups like DT Crew and League of Shadows and a few of those you put me onto. We were going to have to PM quicksand for the leagues at one stage so went the full stalk looking for BlueOz and actually ended up finding him in there, haha.

yeah i just brought it up on foxtel go. pissing down but looks ok. sometimes the pouring rain is good for handling, just makes the ball easier to grab compared to when its misty rain/greasy.

The posters that I wished that made it over were Tim "Gerry" Mander and Jack Bauer.
