That's tough, I think I'd take CWalker, but that's partly for byes and partly because I'm a sucker for an exciting player and he looked bloody good last week. The obvious downside is that those flashy players are usually less consistent so you might be in for a rollercoaster. I could certainly see a lot of people taking McGuire in that scenario though.Welshy wrote:

Prefer Walker mate got to be honest, only reason I'm still mulling is the other trade allowed me to get SMat into CTRs to shore it upArcher wrote:

Hmm, I can't remember what team you had but it is rather handy to have a set and forget CTR. The amount of missed points from having to guess who's going to score well each week, can add up quickly.
Depends on your plans and performance of other players, but i guess its something you can do in 2 -3 weeks anyway when you go after Whitehead/JBrom etc (Can trade out a back or even half since you have Walker and shift SMat down then).

Happy enough with Moga and Cotric for now...Archer wrote:Hmm, I can't remember what team you had but it is rather handy to have a set and forget CTR. The amount of missed points from having to guess who's going to score well each week, can add up quickly.

JDB, Surgess, ET, FKaufusi, Sironen
Moses, Lamb
SMat, Moga
RTS, CWalker, Cotric

How many cows is too many?
I've got kelly Idris Cotric suli rjennings..thinking this is already going to lead to a lot of trades!
Also aren't people trading in Hess worried hell have a big 2 weeks then settle in to around around 35 avg and be around trade out in around months time?

I've brought Abby in for Hayne. Hayne is cheap enough to use as a cash out after a cow matures and I'll get a round to watch him and see if I want him back

For those that are bringing in Abbey, are you playing him in your 17 over guys like Suli and Cotric?

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 18
Not sure I can convince myself to bring in Abbey. But then there's not a whole lot of others that I'm sold on in the backline either.
I certainly wont be getting rid of ET, he can hang about the place. I like what he's doing and think he can be pretty set n forget for a while. KBrom on the other hand is a bit of a different story. Went out on a limb at the start of the season thinking that he may be able to wind up this year. Will give him another week or two (hopefully sample him with some better weather).
What's happening in the rest of fantasy land lads? Have been struggling to get in here for a while due to travel and also onto late team lists etc (meaning that I played Talaki in all forms last week which hurt) but with jet lag and the amount of travel I've been doing, I'm struggling!

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 18
Quick question for the Souths gurus, and anyone else I guess
But is it worth holding Talakai at all? IF he plays again he has cash to be made but also could be valuable around the bye rounds. But the IF is the real question.
Any thoughts?
And is anyone holding Talakai but also bringing in Rennings - i.e. keep them both and have a dabble each way?
I have Python, Jayne, Talakai at the moment and not too sure what I should do....

Is that all?
Clearly I'm a regular dairy farmer then: Brailey, Yates, Elliot, Sironen, Fauafusi, Elgey, Idris, Moga, Kelly, Cotric, Suli and now Hoare.
Then again - thats why I'm scoring so poorly...

Hypothetically speaking if Hess scored average of 45 next 2 games how much would he rise and when would he start losing money?

Im still using the old magic number (9475) but based on that and 2 scores of 45 he will be at 384k. and by week 13 he will have reached his peak at 425k (~420 by rnd 8 for what its worth).
Another scenario is that he hits 45 for 2 weeks and then averages 30 from there on out in which case he peaks at 391k after round 5 and then goes on a steady decline. I guess that scenario (or something similar) is what people are a bit worried about.
Please correct my numbers / methods if needed

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 18
Man I've seen some pretty avg trade proposals across the forum and Facebook.
Is brining in a 2-4 week player worth 2 trades?
I get the people bringing in Hess his scores have been awesome but to me it doesn't feel right, I don't believe he will start even with Lolo out. I think one of the middle forwards come in as direct replacement. I like whoever starts for Scott and I know PK has been named and I might risk it but would not surprise me to see a late change there.
Bringing in Abbey or Montoya seems like a really bad idea, you get 4 weeks at best to make money, what are you going to do if they avg 20? I think the winger from the Titans has the best long term prospects plus we got a free week of watching him and he looked good.

Think I'm going to bring Hoare in for Pythian this week or for Talakai to add a bit to the bank

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 18
Hey guys,
Wondering what you would do with this team:
Cam, Brailey
McGuire, Wallace, Faufusi, Leota
Surgess, JDB, Kromwich, Smat, Siro, Yates
Cleary, Norman, Elgey, Fogerty
BKelly, Dalker, Talakai, Idris
RTS, Suli, Cotric, Jayne, Python
Issues as it stands are:
Elgey will be in my starting team
Leota appears dead weight
Talakai not looking very productive either
Python out
and overall lack of depth at C/WFB due to other injury issues.
Thoughts?

How much cash left? And what trades did you do last week?
