I can't find anyone ripe enough to really trade out atm..
But how does this solve the Brailey dilemma assuming you have Brailey of course.

I was going to say (c) until I saw Sironen was part of the equation & I can't see Sironen improving enough for you so I'd pick option (b) because if Brailey hits another 40 point score he should have another low b/e the following week. What might help you re McInnes is that they are playing the Warriors. McInnes scores the bulk of his points through his tackle count & if the Dragons dominate the Warriors & have most of the possession then his tackle count with suffer. But you also have to hope McInnes doesn't get any attacking stats.
Yeah I'm thinking b too.

White Lightning wrote:So I'm thinking on bringing in Hess & Ponga. To bring in Hess I'm selling Sione. The Knights game plan is to attack down Buhrer's edge & the only time Sione gets a good score is when he gets attacking stats & other than that he rarely sees a lot of traffic. To bring in Ponga I'm selling Suli who I think won't reach his b/e of 18 this week against the Storm & I can see Wests getting thrashed again. Sure these are risky moves but I believe Hess will score well regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench. I think Ponga will make enough cash to move on to Slater in a couple of weeks. I read that O'Neill is out for 6-8 weeks & even if Coote is back next week I think Ponga will go to the wing. There doesn't seem to be much info coming out re Coote's injury so I don't know why it's so hush hush. These moves will give me the following team this week.
Smith, Brailey
Fifita, Wallace, F. Kaufusi (Musgrove)
JDB, Surgess, McGuire, Hess (Winterstein, Yates)
SJ, Lamb, Jacks (Field)
Talakai, Kelly (Cotric, Idris)
RTS, Gutherson, Ponga (Abbey, Phythian)
Selling Sione is a gamble but he hasn't set the world on fire in the first three games. I'm giving him more time though, got a good 40 the week before so we'll see. Bringing in Hess now is surely a gamble. I got him last week and glad I did, but not sure if I'd get him now. He can score just as well off the bench and the way injuries and concussions go, there a big chance he'll be brought on early a lot of the time anyway. I plan to keep him for now. 49 on the weekend with what I felt was limited involvement was incredible IMO.
Going for the Pong also. This is more of a gamble but yeah, surely he sees more game time. The casualty ward on NRL.com says Coote round 4-5, and as you say, so much secrecy around it. Plus we haven't heard anything about Feldt either. Suli I thought looked shit. It was between him, Moga and Hayne for me and looking at Hayne, but might change my mind, I'm torn on all three.

So McInnes scored 61 v the Sharks which included a try assist & 58 tackles. He has a b/e of 42 this week so I actually think his scores will be around the 50-55 point range from now on.

Complete madness.
Although I can see why people would consider it. As you said, Mcinnes is looking to go 600k+, People seem to value trades around the 70-100k mark. Only issue is, its more than one trade, because you'll want Smith Back eventually.
This basically puts the determining factor to what you use the 70k for. It would want to be a fairly solid investment, points and $ wise. Arguably, a trade like Siro to Hess is the sort of move you'd consider, due to more scoring and point potential (arguably).
For my team, id consider doing this to allow for Cronk > Norman , Smat to Croker or Siro to Maubs. But that's about it. And I probably wont do it.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 21
Last week I said I was trading Gallen for Hess and got shot down in flames from all angles.
So I bowed to "forum wisdom" and put Gallen back into my team.
Next morning I woke up and thought 'fuck it, no guts = no glory', so I pulled the trigger on the trade !!
Net result was $198k ITB
+ this week Hess value increased by $41k and Gallen decreased by $12k = $53k gain
+ Hess scored 49 points and Gallen 48
So, my team value increased by $251k and I scored better.
Now I see a few people on here thinking about a similar move although maybe too late to get Hess now !!

The only thing is Gallen a proven keeper just off to a slow start. Hess who knows what will happen. Saying that I got Hess last week for Cartwright, so I ain't complaining.

With out sounding like a bitter arsehole coz Im not on the Hess express, applying your logic people would have been better off selling Teddy and buying Ajohnson last week.
234k ITB
AJohnson +31k
Tedesco -6k
Total increase in money in the bank value of team and extra points.
But youd much rather Tedesco in your team then Ajohnson, and that's probably the reason people tried talking you out of doing the trade in the first place. Many still consider Gallen a Gun and Hess is new on he scene, always going to be risk adverse people trying to talk sense to you.
If after 10rds Hess is still matching Gallen for points, then youre killing it and have made a good choice. Until then, Id still be cautious with the optimism of a positive trade.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 21
Need a strategy for next few weeks to determine what I do. It basically comes down to securing the 2nd HOK spot at premium price or picking up a gun on the cheap.
- Trade Sironen out for P Kaufusi. 138k in the bank, take a couple of hits to the scores for a few weeks I can eventually trade someone like Jacks out and upgrade Brailey to McInnes.
- Trade Sironen out for Whitehead. 12k in the bank. Hold tough in the HOK position and wait for some cows to peak/McInnes to fall in price before I grab him.

I think alot of people were planning on starting mcinnes over smith at the start of the year but field on the bench spooked them into paying overs for smith - or was that just me!
I wouldnt make that trade now though

I don't see McInnes dropping in value anytime soon.
