Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 25
The first year or two when Try Assists came in they were cut and dried. Basically last person involved got it.
Then they went away from that for a year or so and complicated it by looking at the level of involvement. For Fantasy purposes that was frustrating because it introduced subjectivity. They seem to have simplified it again over the last few seasons which makes it more objective again.
With Try Saves, as a Maubbs owner I wanted him to get it. But for the sake of objectivity, and therefore fairness across the board, I do think the 'has to happen in goal' makes it more objective.
Also need to remember that these stats are not actually compiled solely for Fantasy. They are the permanent record for the players, the clubs, and the NRL. At least they used to be. Certainly other guys on here that would know more about that than me though.

Playing at hooker until Peats returns then to lock for Paasi where he played the last pre season game before injury struck.
Seems like he was meant to start the season there.
Just personal opinion??
You have Grevsmuhl and Greenwood to throw in there, Also Wallace too

On try assists - in general the Fantasy community is pretty accepting of the stats.
Every time I go to a supercoach forum/Facebook a significant portion of the posts are whinging about someone getting or not getting a try assist

Any word on Coote. Thinking of going Suli to Slater but will hold off if Ponga looks like getting another run

Would you keep Suli or Cotric. Having second thoughts re Slater.
I think Cotric has a better chance to score a try but Suli loves a tb
On second look Cotric beats him there too

Why would you sell Suli? 156 metres last game, against Dragons this week and BE of 17

155/3. With any luck I will finally hit 700 again for the first time since round 1.

We think the stats guys are bad in fantasy but they are shocking in sc. The points upgrades/downgrades can be up to 20 points which is strange because how can they miss so much during a game. A couple of weeks ago when Sione provided a ta in sc they awarded it & then took it away when it was a clear ta so people rightfully so got really pissed off & it even cost people in h2h games. People who owned him lost up to 20 points of their score. People whinge because the stats guys are so inept so there is a lot of complaining.

As a Talakai owner who played him last night I'm not sure why they insist in attacking down the left edge so much. Jennings has such bad hands that half the plays fail. Two weeks ago Souths scored down the right edge & Talakai got a ta. It was one of the few times they used this channel during the game & it paid off.
