Finished on 756. I only dropped 114 spots to rank 334 which surprised me as I thought it would be a lot more.
Congrats Manlybeaver on our L51 h2h. You won quite comfortably in the end. You have a crack team.

That game was a nightmare. Thought I'd finish the round at about 850 but only got to 797 Sad
Slater with 2 tries and 2 try assists for a score in the 30s is awful. Went backwards by about 12 points at the end there.
Also had Smith, JDB, Vaughan and Kaufusi who all scored less than expected.
What a shit week. Hoping for some updates so I can at least get to 800.

There's always 1 or 2 rounds every year where all the main players score crap & this round is 1 of them. Also do you think some of the rep players just held back a little bit as some of them were quiet. Wasn't last years round before the rep round a poor scoring one like this year. I vaguely remember this so could be wrong.

It makes sense logically, though I have no idea if it happened that way. My team at this stage last year was a hodge-podge of me having no idea what I was doing when selecting my original team, so I probably wouldn't have noticed anyway. I would have been overjoyed by almost scoring 800 last year pirat

Updates are in for the 1st game.
RTS up to 57 which pushes me over 800. Now just have to hope none of those bludgers in the 2nd game get downgraded.

Can someone explain the optimal way to handle byes? Like what does it mean you a player has "good byes"? What am I suppose to be using trade on during this period?

Wow, I'm absolutely stoked at the moment!

I just went on to check my final score, sitting on 819 pre updates and moved up to 37th overall. I'm also running 2nd in the Tigers official league and only 9 points behind the leader.

To top it off I've jumped to the top of the L2 league and running 2nd in the Fantasy Fanatics overall.

Not sure how long I can stay here but I'll soak it up while it lasts. So happy at the moment, got a feeling the wife might get lucky tonight  Dance

Sell your cash cows or mid-rangers to players who play in lots of the bye rounds. E.g Eels and Rabbitohs play 3. Dogs, Roosters, Sharks and Storm play 2. Example you have Moses Suli in your team, you trade him out to someone like John Folau who might fill in for Jennings over Origin.

Also on the flipside you look to upgrade your cows or trade out guns with unfriendly byes to good players over the bye period. E.g Sam Burgess, Nathan Brown, Corey Norman, James Graham, Paul Gallen, Cameron Munster.

    Plan well but don't overplan.

841 pre updates and managed to bank the trades this week. Two week break now so time to plan for the byes

Got 5 extra points out of my Warriors players. They'd better damn well give Slater those 5 try save points on Lafai. I mean geez you only heard the commentary bang on about how well Slater covered the distance to get over there and stop Lafai from getting the ball to the ground.

continuing on from what johnny said:

take a look at page 1 for teams that play on major bye rounds, and plan your trades according to the players who take the field. major hint is the rabbits and eels have 'good byes' as they play all three big bye rounds 12, 15 and 18

there are a number of strategies, and no right way to do it. but you would hope to put as many points on during each of the major bye rounds while minimising the amount of missing players in the small bye rounds 13, 16 and 19.

if there was an optimal strategy we would all have mastered it. last year was the first year i pulled out an excel sheet and studied up. before then, it was pen and paper and i always messed things up so my advice is to use excel
