Thanks mate, shame my ranking doesn't reflect that, but hoping to come home strong and get something respectable in the end!

Tossing up between 2 trades but I don't know which has more gain

Smith to Friend allows for 'gun scores' during byes. But I run the risk of Friend not playing 80 in the games Roosters are full strength, which could result in him scoring pretty average. It also means using an extra trade to bring Smith back in (18 trades left so it may not be too bad)

Hampton to Nu Brown gives me some extra pocket money and a scorer in 2 major byes, but Brown doesn't play rd13 when I will not be able to field 17 players.

I think rd 13 might catch a few people out - I know it dudded me last year in the virtualsports DT eliminator....was top 5 in the round for rd 12....then go up against one of the lowest scoring surviving teams in rd 13....who then had a full team at their disposal compared to me scraping a 17 together with all my souths players on a bye

Looks like they are running it the same way this year too if I am reading the eligibilty correctly.

How exactly does the captain loophole work? If the vice captain has a gun game you just swap the captain to the reserves and the vice captain gets the double, with your then captain getting the emergency points thingo?

Yup - as long as you have 17 or less players.

Pamfus apparently just said Carty out for up to 3 months. I fleetingly thought about keeping CHN, but not with those byes and last week's work ethic.

So it doesnt matter if you switch to a (r) or does it have to be to outside the 17? This is incredible changes my mind on captaincy for sure, cheers.

hmmm, tempting to hold, but to get Surgess this week I have to trade out CHN. Its either him or ET, and ET is reasonably reliable (until hes upgraded). Can't continue to go without Surgess it seems.

Ditto, I only didn't do CHN to Surgess last week as I thought CHN might make a few more dollars then Surgess...

Your captain can not become a reserve, but he can be an AE from outside your 17.

You can swap your captain with a reserve, but this would leave you with only 3 reserves selected, and you'll need to add a 4th reserve in from your other NPRs

If you end up with only 16 selected players, and they all take the field, then you will not get an AE, and your captain's score might be wasted. This stuffed up somebody on this forum last year.

I might still go ahead with my Slater to SJ trade. I have Munster and Walker as my halves (or Gutho by DPP, throw in RTS and I have no shortage of gun backs but lacking a serious keeper half. All agreed? Also gives me

Admittedly I haven't done it this year, but my understanding is that you can switch to either - the only catch might be that you may not be able to make the switch if the guy you are swapping for has already played...

Eg if your C is on Friend for example and your reserve hooker is Pritchard, then because Pritchard plays before Friend he will be locked in and you won't be able to make the switch.

Someone else should be able to confirm that one way or another.

But yup in short this will change things for you compared to regular weeks.

This week there will be a lot of people with the vc on Surgess or Chichton I'd imagine, with the C on SJ, Gallen, Mannering....

If he is really out for 3 months then his PPM* is going to be off the charts.
