The Eels have some injury problems apparently with Moeroa & Auva'a. There could be a chance that Niukore (138k 2fr/ctr) might grab a spot on the bench.

This is my first year at fantasy and I've already become addicted! As a beginner would, I blew all my trades in the first 10 rounds and now find myself with only 11 left (not including this weeks trades.)

I am urging myself to trade Tim Lafai to Leilua. This will give me enough money to bring in McInnes for Brailey who I know won't be getting 80 minutes in the next rounds with Segeyaro hovering around the Cronulla reserves this week. As stated above, the only problem is my number of trades left!

I have 11 Trades left with 30k in the bank my current team is:

    Smith(c), Brailey
    Bolton, Taupau, J.J Felise(s), Liu (s)
Surgess, Crichton, Gallen, Whitehead, Merrin, Sele(s)
    Hampton, McCrone, Elgey(s), Feeney(s)
    Fuimaono, Lafai, LBrown(s), Idris (s)
    Holmes, Slater, Uate, Edwards, Roberts-Davis(s)

Please can someone help me sort out my team! Laughing

Clark can play hooker, but I assume if Cook does drop out, Farah will play big minutes, if not necessarily the full 80

Elgey - NPR, Liu (I'm assuming thats the Roosters player?) also to NPR.

Upgrade Hampton - Gun HLF, somehow find money to get another gun FRF.

McCrone isnt the best, but theres no point trading him out when Hampton + others are worse.

I mean it's only James Hooper so take it with a grain of salt but he reckons Norman will be playing this weekend. That's enough for me to start him and risk an AE which is more than likely to be Feeney anyway

I was considering this too but as Milchy said even if they drop Cook it doesn't necessarily guarantee Farah playing 80 minutes. It may pay to hold Cook if he's dropped because he won't lose value & see what transpires with Farah's minutes. He did play 80 minutes in rounds 10 & 11 & scored 49 in both rounds.

I remember that Farah was going to be dropped then he was switched to start and has been there since. Maybe Cook is going to start now

I should clarify he said that a week and a half ago. That he would be right to go for this game. Anyway, it seems more than likely.

You could do worse than Lafai and you want to start working towards a strong 17. The weak links in your 17 at the moment are.. Brailey, Hampton/Elgey, Fuimaono, Uate.

Lafai is a hold just because it is a little sideways and you don't want to be doing that at this stage. I would take the wait and see on Brailey this week and try and upgrade Hampton/Elgey.

As mentioned Liu downgrade and upgrade one of Elgey and Hampton.

Then I would try and see where else you could get the funds for Brailey next week if Segeyaro comes back into the team.

Also pick 2 to play out of Cotric, Hayne and B. French.

Welcome and glad to hear you're loving it!

You are doing what I think every new player does which is get a bit lost fiddling around in centres. Laughing

Your focus with that squad is your halves and even Brailey needs to wait I think with only 11trades left

Start looking at who you want to remove in order to upgrade them. Your second row needs little work so consider that position job done and focus on your main issues

It's a game of cash out and upgrade. Here are suggestion of 8 moves leaving you 3 trades for the run home which is absolutely bare minimum to not touch...

    CASH OUT
Uate (at this point just played Holmes Slater Edwards as your back 3)
Liu/Felise (whoever is worth most to give you more bank - neither is worth a place in your final 17)
Roberts-Davis (sorry I don't know what these guys are worth. Hopefully he's not already bottom dollar!)
Hampton (maybe to the young fellow from the Cowboys named this week)

All of the above should be changed to 138k players ideally playing round 15 or 18

    UPGRADE
    McCrone
    Bolton
Idris (whoever you replace him with is now Lafais centres partner for you)
Elgey (to Lolohea - your halves are now Lolohea and whoever you can eventually get for McCrone)

Prioritize this week the lolohea upgrade move of elgey to get one of your final halves in. With 11 moves left its about as good as you will get as second half mate and Brailey can wait and maybe even end up your 18th man

    Hope this helps.

Good luck and hope this season triggers a big year next!

    Coffee

Heh, Rookie! Veterans like myself have a whole 13 trades left at this stage!

Edit: As for some serious advice, what i like to do is go through my team and jot down who i think are keepers, who i could live with as keepers due to low trades (Eg Whitehead in my case), who I'd ideally like to trade (CHN, Hayne etc.) and then who is a must go (Frawley, Brailey - Because I need CSmith back in at 19 etc.).

Its probably something you've already got a mental image of but it helps me actual come up with a plan when i can see it in front of me, then I've got a picture of how many trades i need to burn just on the MUST DO's, how many I'd have to spend to do all my WANT's and what that would leave me left with the to end the season. Then the other question you can start to ask yourself with such low trades is this "Do you hold trades or at this stage are you better off just burning them to get the best possible team and trying to ride out your luck).
