It has been a long year.

You must have been having some rotten luck Random, because you know your stuff. Both the quality and quantity of sdvice you gave all and sundry prior to Round 1 at the start of the season was epic.

I am off to England on the weekend, so these will be the last BEs from me for a month or so.

So do the dogs origin players even back up this week? They're playing in NZ less than 48 hours after origin.

If Blues win no chance they back up. If QLD win we will see

My opinion on what the rules *should* be is ranked subs with a hard lockout.

No loopholes, and no need to check final teams all weekend. And no difference between a late withdrawal in the 2nd game of the weekend compared to the last.

As you say/imply Milchy, it was the bringing in of the rolling lockout in both DT and SC that created the "loophole" (in either 2012 or 2013, I think). Fanhub created the current problem when they decided to "fix" the loophole in 2015. It came across to me at the time, that Fanhub, after the debacle of 2014, was desperately trying to promote themselves as being different and more proactive than VSDT (and probably SC). Well they proved to me how different they are in 2014, so I need no further proof of their incompetence. Razz

Funny how Lone Scout had no problem with the loophole 2012-2014. And I don't remember and significant complaints about it in 2012-2013. I think the current "loophole" in VSDT and SC is fairer than what NRLF currently has. The loophole seems to be a non-issue in VSDT (which is MOSTLY played by seasoned veterans). How is it viewed in the SC community (I DONT know because I DON'T play SC)?

    #IwillneverforgiveFanhub Wink lol

The trick is to try to have exactly 17 in the bye rounds. It's a legitimate of buying planning in NRLF (not so much in VSDT).

I know what you are saying but I disagree. If you look at it another way it rewards perfect bye planning. If you can nail it so your players are equally dispersed across 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, and 19. In theory you could loophole for most if not all of those rounds. Bit harder in NRL.com, but that's roughly where I am at in VTSD. Bye round numbers are/were something along the lines of 16, 17, 15, 16, 15, 17 for those rounds. At this stage im in a position where I can loophole for all 6 of those rounds.

    Good post R&T. Very Happy

Don't see why you want more than 17 in a major bye round. You don't get extra points for depth and it would leave you severely short in the other bye rounds

Fualalo may be a good trade in this week if you have the trades to him out again after rnd 18. If dogs origin players don't back up then he should get good mins this week and in round 18. Tualau also a cheaper option who shouldn't need to be traded back out.

Without being able to predict injuries, there just arent alot of good cashouts who will play rnd 18.

Stew can get his hands on a couple of cheap DVD players that should play anytime if Filthridden is interested.

Dean Whare is your best bet.

Almost base price, no more byes. Has the capability to score big (but probably won't)

haha, just looking at his stats.

In round 11, he scored 8, with 5 tackles (2 missed), 1 tb, and 46 metres (in 80 mins).
In round 13, he scored 11, with 7 tackles, 45 metres, and not another mark on the stats sheet (in 80 mins).

Its hard to believe he'd even be tired after a match.

I have a season defining trade to make for the week ahead. I wanted to dump Sione but since I managed to crack Top 5 in overall this week, my attention now wanders to whether he's worth keeping until Round 18. I don't think he is but I would be losing that extra scorer plus the fact my replacement for him Tommy Turbo might play Origin III if it's a dead rubber.

The fact is though he has 6 scores in the 20's and under. Cotric as a winger only has 4. Hmmmm it actually gives me another idea but first thing's first is deciding whether to boot Sione.

Stew is still living in the 90s if he thinks people want to buy DVD players.

Sony minidisc is where it's at.
