It's a fair play though. I remember I was going into the last few weeks with a few trades up my sleeve last year I think it was and did some random POD trades just cause the trades were there which I didn't need to do, and it didn't work and ended up hurting my ranking slightly.

Scott will give me 17 so my fingers are crossed. How loyal us Bellamy usually? Is he likely to go with the guy he's used all season or go with the new kid / future who is looking the good? My sense from his comments is thats a way of saying, fuck Scott played really well and he is now for sure on our radar, but sorry kid, not this time, we are gonna stick with the guy we know.

I burned some trades early, pissing round with WFBs/Cs like Rennings, Python, Abbey, Talakai, Burns.... It's screwed me now and is my biggest learning from this season: Dont waste trades on shitty no-name outside backs and Cs. If I hadnt done that I'd have a couple more up my sleeve which would of course be better. That being said I reckon 3 is ample for the run home. You might come unstuck for sure, but to do really well in this game my sense is you need to use most of your trades (wisely) leading up to, during, and directly after the byes. It seems like its the only way to generate your cash, maximise your points, and get the gun 17/18/19 by round 20! Of course it is my first year and I could well be wrong!

I expect Scott to win the nod.

I feel like Bellamy overlooks Young T when there's an opportunity for someone else.

I almost think Scott wasn't named to start just to keep his head in check through-out the week.

That said he wouldn't play off the bench anyway so there probably isnt alot to read into how the storm 17 was named at all..

I don't own Scott but I hope he does play for those that do own him. He played much better than Young T. & should get the nod based on performance. The only thing that might sway Bellamy towards starting with Young T. is experience which will be important against the Roosters because it will be a very intense game. Maybe if the Storm were playing a bottom half team then Bellamy would be more comfortable starting with Scott.

Is JDB essential? Had him since the start but bar recent 70 has been frustrating. Last 7 scores

What about a cheeky punt on Barnett playing the next 3

Well no in that I don't own Taumalolo and I've still found my way to the Top 5 somehow. With JDB he is the 4th best 2RF on averages plus he's also the cheapest of the big guns currently so he's a great buy but it's not going to kill your team if you don't have him

played 80 last game though I suspect only because of HIA which caused reshuffle (smat to ctr, etc)?

I have to play all 3 of my Knights players this week, SMat, Yates and Lamb...........

I'm holding him til 19 where he will become Smitty.

Watson's presence has minimal impact on Friend. All depends on if Pearce backs up from origin or not. Friend takes on a lot more responsibility if Pearce is away.

The 0 unfortunately means that he won't be rocketing up in price but nothing to be done about that now.

If Scott plays I have 17, including Suli. Considering going all in and trading down Pritchard to get Fifita/Rapana/someone. Holding JDB cuz he was always part of my end team. R18 is going to suck.

Team will be something like

Smith
Fifita, Vaughan, JGraham/RJames
Surgess, Gallen, Taumalolo, Crichton, Mannering, JDB
SJ, Munster (NPR, NPR)
Cotric/SMat, TTrbo (NPR)
Edwards, Rapana, RTS (NPR, NPR)

One of Graham, James, Cotric or SMat will be 18th man. A trade up from RTS is a possible luxury trade. The money is tight but I feel I can do it

Is either Gutherson or Slater a keeper? Both will miss 2 rounds from now until round 26 however Gutherson will play round 18 and is coming off a fantastic score with a low BE. Considering trading one to either Cleary, Tedesco or Mansour this week.

I might go JDB - Barnett

Certainly more risky than Taupau. But low on trades and this will help me with funds to get Fifita/Smith in for the run home.

I am more concerned about scores than minutes

But basically I'd just be hoping the shortfall in points between him and Taupau is made up for by the extra $200k to spend elsewhere

I also am yet to finalise trades this round. Will have a proper look at trades and options after fallout from origin.
