No mate, I look at all 3 as upgrades to season keepers.

    Current Team........Cash: $245,000

    Friend, Smith jr
    Taupau, Fifita, Gurgess, Tualau
Lolo, Crichton, Surgess, JDB, Mannering, Gallen
    SJ, ARey, CNK, Frown
    SMat, Fui, Scott, Crotic
    Rapana, Munster, Edwards, RTS, Uate

    Bold are reserves

    ok select the best option

    a) Hayne/Ross (RTS to go) or someone 286k less to be 18th man (with scott, cotric, uate) and Smith snr (leaving me 2 trades with no $$$)

2 trades left, and still keep Cotric as injury cover (if Scott disapears), Uate covers backline with trade-in option....Munster can cover Half injury via cnk, only get Smith snr no Pearce

    b) Tturbo/Mansour/Teddy/Dugan etc  (RTS to go) possible headache with very strong backline but potiential to shift players esp with TTurbo....then Uate to cashout to help get smith snr (leaving 1 trade but apx upto $10-$60k left in bank. or keep Uate and trade Cotric to a $220k max player.

1 trade left....Much stronger 18th man but loaded backline with potential to score more with no injuries, great injury cover. small change left over

    c) Cashout Cotric and RTS to possibly Kelly and CMat (or $150k or less) and trade smith for smith and cnk for Pearce and have ARey as 18th but no more trades.

Booming team with Smith and Pearce, with the luxary of a Arey as 18th, Kelly and Uate to help cover injuries. no trades but fingers crossed all the way home.

    d) do nothing and keep my 4 trades (have 12 playing this week......17 next week but AE as ill have no hooker)

    e) pehaps there is something else

i hope this makes sence scratch

looks like you are 13k short of Cotric to $138k nuffie, then Smith to Smith and Reynolds to Pearce.
So, you could wait 2 weeks to see is Cotric and Reynolds can make up the difference
    or
you could go RTS to nuffie any time, then Smith to Smith and Reynolds to Pearce.

you probably dont need Reynolds coz Munster can cover the halves if required

and you still have 1 trade left !!

    just a thought

    Trade ideas this week

    McGuire > Saunders
    Lolohea > DCE
    Munster > TTurbo/Walker

leaves 300k and 5 trades, trying to break into the top 1000 somehow

I'm not so sure, Surgess strained his butt 4 days before his game, didn't train, pulled out last minute, and no one was the wiser, even the media. Souths seem pretty good at keeping secrets.

I kinda agree with you in parts, but at the same time there is some background info to Laumape which is important.
    1) he played rugby as a kid,
    2) he signed for the warriors when he was very young (14 or 15) I heard,
    3) when it came to leave PNBHS (and rugby union) he didn't actually want to go to the Warriors, but he had to
    4) he's actually taken a few years to find his feet in Rugby too, Boyd is on record as saying Laumape was a changed man when he came back from the offseason this year. It was really only this season that he has come good, an boy has he - although personally I still see some massive in-game commitment weaknesses in his game still!!

I guess the point I am making is that there is much more to this kid and his career progression, it can't just be put down to not being managed well at the Warriors and then suddenly flourishing when he came back to Rugby. Im not saying that is all you are saying but I thought some background info on him might be interesting.

By the way, I've been largely out of the loop this week.

Anything important to know this week?

    Cheers!

Toohey is a reliable source, he's the main journo who covers the Knights

I agree mate. I just have 5 trades left & the ramifications of using/not using trades is driving me loco haha & it seems an eternity since the last game for some reason.

Fui is a decent back-up (18th/19th man) for your NPR bench, so I would be wary about trading him out too early. What about upgrading either Hoare or Stimson (instead of Fui) for Fifita in R19/20, since neither of those two guys will be of any use to you after R19/20?

This is my first year playing fantasy I'm playing in a group of 10 people at least I'm not last I don't have to buy shot buckets. Everyone in my group is low on trades but I was thinking of having hayne my 18th man. Fui>Fifita and C.Scott>Teddy or Mansour.

Those look like solid trades... I would go Teddy instead of Mansour... but see how everyone pulls up after origin first.
Fifi might get a rest after SOO
