I wrote more in my initial reply here, but whole sentences randomly disappear when the post is 'sent'.
I have used 1 today, so a temporary fix has iced me over.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 56
I'm set in every position except WFB and maybe my halves, currently in those positions I have,
Halves - SJ, Cleary, Fogerty, Laybutt
WFB - Slater, Munster, RTS, Edwards Whare
I also have TTurbo and Hayne with their DPP that can be swapped from the centres.
I'm in two minds on what I should do, would I be better off upgrading one of my backs to gun back or trading one of them to a third half via Fogerty or maybe just leave things the way they are?
I've always finished with atleast 3 halves in previous seasons, it just feels a bit odd only having two. I still have cover there from Munster if SJ or Cleary ever get injured. Another upside is that a third half would possibly provide a better scoring 18th or 19th man.
Only 4 trades left and 94k itb. Thinking maybe DCE as a third half if I go that way or Teddy, if I upgrade my backs, I'm open to other options though.
Just not sure which way to go, who to keep and who to trade in.

I'd leave it as it is. If SJ or Cleary get injured you can move Munster to the halves via Fogarty & still have 3 quality wfb's. I would only use a trade if you got 2 injuries but at the moment you can hold with only 4 trades left.

With those backs plus Turbo and Hayne, you don't need to trade mate. Swape Foghorn and Munster and boom, 3 halves, problem solved.

If Crichton does play, I don't see him going 80. Fui might be up for another 80 minute game perhaps.

Thanks lads, just didn't want to fall behind the teams with the likes of Teddy, Mansour etc. Seems like I should be trying get at least one of them to stay with the pack.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 56
ok here it is.....Im 17th and still giving it a go. i have been over my squad for days. I realy want Smith back in for smith, and possibly Pearce. also would like to cash in on points if i can as im 17th. im fairly skint at frf but i feel i need to gamble somewhere.
Current Team........Cash: $245,000
Friend, Smith jr
Taupau, Fifita, Gurgess, Tualau
Lolo, Crichton, Surgess, JDB, Mannering, Gallen
SJ, ARey, CNK, Frown
SMat, Fui, Scott, Crotic
Rapana, Munster, Edwards, RTS, Uate
Bold are reserves
ok select the best option
a) Hayne/Ross (RTS to go) or someone 286k less to be 18th man (with scott, cotric, uate) and Smith snr (leaving me 2 trades with no $$$)
2 trades left, and still keep Cotric as injury cover (if Scott disapears), Uate covers backline with trade-in option....Munster can cover Half injury via cnk, only get Smith snr no Pearce
b) Tturbo/Mansour/Teddy/Dugan etc (RTS to go) possible headache with very strong backline but potiential to shift players esp with TTurbo....then Uate to cashout to help get smith snr (leaving 1 trade but apx upto $10-$60k left in bank. or keep Uate and trade Cotric to a $220k max player.
1 trade left....Much stronger 18th man but loaded backline with potential to score more with no injuries, great injury cover. small change left over
c) Cashout Cotric and RTS to possibly Kelly and CMat (or $150k or less) and trade smith for smith and cnk for Pearce and have ARey as 18th but no more trades.
Booming team with Smith and Pearce, with the luxary of a Arey as 18th, Kelly and Uate to help cover injuries. no trades but fingers crossed all the way home.
d) do nothing and keep my 4 trades (have 12 playing this week......17 next week but AE as ill have no hooker)
e) pehaps there is something else
i hope this makes sence

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 56
I think you can make an argument for any of those Deuces, what is your gut leaning you towards? It's got you this far hasn't it?
I mean c) sounds exciting as fuck and possibly the way to chase that 1st place (you could make an argument for saving trades and being reactive, waiting for an injury/lengthy suspension to occur to someone crucial that lets you catch the leader that way, but who really wants to spend each week hoping for that?). That said i probably wouldn't have the balls to do it myself as you've gotta be prepared for it to blow up in your face. I'd probably wind up going with a compromise.
That said, have you compared your current team to say the top 5 teams to see what differences you have at the moment? Might be a good mental exercise to look at what kind of ground you can make up on the opposition without any changes, that way you can get a feel for what kind of risk is needed to catch them?

Congrats on the high ranking mate.
Your team is pretty loaded as it is but for me though any option to get CS9 in is a winner, so option A for me. B and C look very tempting but riding with 1 or no trades this far out is very risky. Another argument is that you are so close to the leaders that maybe the risk is worth the reward.
Fortune favours the brave mate.

Why can't I bring myself to sell RTS to ARey or DCE? Is it really worth pinning my hopes on him gaining a bit of value so I can trade him to Pearce for round 20?

Ngai laumape has had a stellar career since leaving the warriors, was like a young Hurrell or old Kata, and now is a starting all black. The talent that the warriors have is just being mismanaged in a culture of under delivering. Such a shame
