An average of 42 in your last 3 listed scores there and why are you discounting the entire first half of the year?
I've owned Merrin a lot in my time and with 80mins I'm generally all over him but until then the hope he should be a CONSISTENT 60pt gun is baseless if discussing THIS year

That's fair enough mate and form it's fine. Not a top gun, but good. I was talking about him this year not being a gun on total points and the 47 average. makes so many moves to him close to sideways unless you have money ITB or it's a clear upgrade. the players taking minutes off him this year are bang average forwards which is a shame as I thought he'd be closer to an 80min regular

Sure he wouldn't be a bad 5th backrower but I'd sooner take the punt on a Cleary or Pearce

That's a fair analysis. He's not the kind of keeper that'd you'd absolutely want for this week, like say Tlolo was for R15.

I reckon the conventional wisdom would say Fifita, based on past consistency. But their averages this year are about the same, and Flanagan has talked about resting players after Origin. I'd go Taupau.

Thanks for that! I looked at Manly's draw and it seems not too bad. I'm worried Barrett benches Taupau early in some of those games. Or continues the trend against the warriors. Fml

Ah the luxury of being able to sideways trade guns. I'm taking more of the pick and stick approach but I also have no choice in the matter with limited trades. I mean people considering trading Munster out to get 2 extra games out of someone else. Certainly got plenty of trades locked away to be able to do that.
