Trent Merrin's minutes went down by 10 per game last year from the year before. I can't recall if there was any particular reason for this. Any thoughts?

I recall him looking lazy out there but his stats don't really reflect that. A part of it is the injury in Round 19, because up until then he was averaging 58 minutes. You also had Corey Harawira-Naera come onto the scene and play big minutes. Personally I wouldn't pick him up until you see the minutes breakdown. Because even in the finals series last year Merrin averaged 36 minutes a game while CHN picked up 80 minutes. You also have Cartwright potentially starting and taking up minutes in the 2RF after a return from a season filled with injury and scandal. So he could fire up. Isaah Yeo also played a lot more games last year in the 2RF than he did the previous year and played 80 minutes most games.
Interestingly James Fisher Harris returned the round that Merrin got injured. So whether they were playing it safe with Merrin to see out the year, and the finals series or when he returned that is a better reflection of his minutes is a possibility. All an all there is too much question marks over his playing minutes and too many 2RFs at the Panthers to make a case for him. You have James Fisher-Harris, Bryce Cartwright. Corey Harawira-Naera, Isaah Yeo, and Tyrone Peachey.
@Milchcow is there a reason the PPM list isn't in the 2018 Team Planner on the look up feature.

Because the team planner is primarily for my benefit, and I don't give a shit about PPM.
I'll add it in at some point for those that want it.

Bulldogs are hoping to get one of either Cogger or Sezer apparently.
If Sezer goes to the dogs i'll put him straight in my team. Also Sam Williams would come into consideration for me if he's the right price.
Yeah i'm still struggling with these prices

Me too, I'm just converting all prices into points and it makes a lot more sense.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 1
Prices are basically 3/2 from last year, so a 450k player would have been about 300k, a 600k one about 400k etc. That's not exact but it's an easy approximation.

Titans for me, Cleary will get so much more out of the Tigers, some good signings as well
JRey is a great signing for them, think Benji will help develop TLolo, Matulino and he development of Twal who is a beast!

I mean I agree to an extent, it is overrated. But for players who consistently play 60+ minutes it is a decent analysis tool. Like last year it showed the capped potential of Jarrod Wallace (Who got lucky with injuries early on.)
But I do agree when using it from impact players and who are in short stints.

Agreed. Although that means we are disagreeing with 2 of the most reputable stats blokes on the forum

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 1
The ppm stat doesn't take into consideration the context of the game. A starting prop for example is on the field in a period in the game where a lot of Run Meters and Tackles are being made. They might do the same minutes as an Interchange prop, but their role on the field is very different
