It's Australian rugby league. They can & will bend the rules to suit them. If Fifita is playing well then NSW will have no hesitation in picking him.

True true. I think he'll have to be in seriously good form though to get picked over guys like de Belin, Vaughan, McLean and RCG who have stayed loyal. Plus, Tonga plays Samoa the day before Origin II. I wonder who he'll choose.

I agree. I don't think Fifita will get picked anyway. The young guns coming up are better than him & I think Fifita is on the decline & won't be able to raise his game in 2018 to warrant selection.

He will be another scapegoat for the blues' loss IMO. I think Vaughn and JDB will come in and JTurbo might even start at lock or something. And yeah as Alfie said, McLean and RCG were quite impressive in the WC.

yeh i'm pretty sure they relax eligibility rules during world cups, so good players not picked for the big 3 can help the lower-tier nations field better teams.

My question is what happens to Sutton?

Does he play in the halves with walker at fullback or does he play of the bench or miss out all together?

I remember the coach pretty much saying this as soon as he got the job.

When's his 300th game? It'll be his last year, the coach will want to phase him out, he's been relly ineffecitve for a long time now. CHuck him on the bench and once he's reached his milestone, bump him out, same as they did with Merrit. Having Surgess, Murray and Angus would be much more effective than Sutton. maybe put Sutton back to centres?

I doubt he'll be in the halves, Walker and ARey have that covered.

I reckon they'll just have Sutton on the bench as a bit of a utility. He can play anywhere in the forward pack and cover the halves

He'll be on the bench and come on every game around the 20 minute mark when ARey goes off for a concussion.

I'm astonished that he hasn't had 300 games yet. I just researched it hes on 283.

As purely an excitement thing to watch I would love Walker at fullback and Cook at 5/8th

The Mole also reporting that Jack Cogger could be going to the Bulldogs this year instead of in 2019. Just for those unaware Cogger originally signed for the Bulldogs from 2019.

I want to put DCE in my team but I also have Croker in my 17. Maybe Cogger will solve my problem.

Apologises for this as it's January and I haven't really started thinking Fantasy

Could see there's quite a few changes could someone please educate me on the big changes?

Just for the record as well, I won the mod competition last year. Let that sink in.

G'day HS. There's a great article on nrl.com that explains it fully. Basically there are now 21 player squads. You pick a starting 13 & then ranked your bench from 1-8. The 8 players on your bench can be from any position e.g. you could have 8 hookers as an absurd example.

True mate but I've always been a fan of Wighton but he's never quite realised his potential. Wighton is more of a gut call on my part. I'm going to say that GI gets injured & his knee falls apart.

Yeah, me too. Looked like he could play Centre at Origin level for a bit. The move to Fullback has been disappointing.

I'd like to see DCE's average in kick metres in 2016 before I jump on him. I seem to remember them still being quite low despite walker not doing much kicking.

It's a shame NRL.com have removed their old system of recording NRL and NYC statistics from two year prior
