For sure I’m switching my thinking this year to guys like Ponga, I’m usually ultra conservative but I’m wavering! Guys like Dylan edwards I watched last year in real time expecting 5/6 TBS and he was getting 2/3, always contentious with stat guy favourites and I’m sure it’s been disproved when comparing other stat providers but always that gut feelingwolfking wrote:
They were so generous with them when he played last year. He looks like a great option.

I don't know if I can trust GI & his injury record plus Souths are a poor team so will GI get the attacking stats. Based on the Raiders nice opening 5 games I'm thinking of giving Jack Wighton a shot in my team.

Wighton has never been fantasy relevant, GI has at least been a gun, injuries or not for similar price GI is far and away a better choice than Wighton! I like Crocker and BJ to improve on last season but I can’t see Wighton doing it mateWhite Lightning wrote:I don't know if I can trust GI & his injury record plus Souths are a poor team so will GI get the attacking stats. Jesus, I hadn't looked at the Raiders' first couple of months of fixtures. Brings BJ into consideration for a gamble.

True mate but I've always been a fan of Wighton but he's never quite realised his potential. Wighton is more of a gut call on my part. I'm going to say that GI gets injured & his knee falls apart.

Nothing wrong with a call like that mate, but for the call to work out you need GI to get injured early season and Wighton to fly out of the blocks, only way I can see that scenario working out for you fantasy wiseWhite Lightning wrote:

Wacko tweeting that Jason Ryles has said that NAS will spend time during games as and edge back rower!
could be set for a decent minutes uptick if that’s the case

White Lightning wrote:Fifita's run metres 2016 = 3,694 - 2017 = 3,167. That's a big drop & I think opposing teams in 2017 planned to stop his run metres with the first defender tying up his legs.
This was really prominent from Origin 1 and 2 and I think made a lot of teams notice this method of containing him.

This is interesting!
NAS never lived up to the fantasy score promise in previous seasons, but this might change things

Was Cronk ever considered a fantasy gun during his time at the Storm?

Hey @Milchcow do you know how many forced drop outs JT made last year?
I would assume he'd be top of the list if it wasn't for his injury

I've wanted NAS ever since the WC. He was a beast then and with Mclean leaving he'll be picking up minutes.
I think that Welch will be a decent pick up again I had him last year and was going awesome until his unfortunate injury

Where does Hoffman fit into the pack for Storm with this NAS news? I would have thought Bellamy might have just run an 80 minute Hoffman and 80 Felise but who knows if Hoffman will even get back into the starting pack.

When Ryles says spending time it could just mean 15mins or something.
Lord Dale and Hoffman getting a rest with Felise being the 80min forward

Going back to the Fifita talk also, even though his numbers have been down with all the WC stuff in regards to him playing for Tonga, if he doesn't get picked for the Blues now he could be a great option.

Felise to lock while Dale has a spell perhaps.

That's a great point about Fifita. Is he even allowed to play Origin after representing Tonga?
