@Alfie
Yes I will strongly be considering Friz, if he gets 80 week in, week out he is undervalued!
Just don't trust Marys rotation

Nope, that doesn't work.
Fullback is a late withdrawal and you don't have a fullback on your bench then you are one player down as a hooker can't replace a fullback in your starting 13.
" .... but remember you'll want at least one player covering every position in your starting side. If one of your starting centres is a late withdrawal and you have no back-up centres in your squad, you'll be a man short that week."
That quote comes from here .... https://www.nrl.com/news/2018/01/12/the-change-that-revolutionises-nrl-fantasy/
Trading a late withdrawal in a position you don't have a reserve for might work. It means keeping up to date before each game and potentially wasting trades.
You can still have 9 hookers in your squad.
Probably isn't a good idea as you won't have any cover for injury/late withdrawal. But its possible within the rules

I'm also confident Smith will be in my team. If you don't have him, who will you captain?
I think I'll be playing 3-4 hookers this year.
Smith looks to still be the most reliable captain. Garvey might be too cheap to resist. And then monitor other teams for value
Smith may get traded out and in again around origin, have to go for gut feel on if he'll get other rests or not.
Is Pearce a potential captaincy option? Hard to know how good this knights team is actually going to be and its hard for hlfs to score if their team doesnt have the ball

Lone Scout on Twitter has said "late January" for website and "early February" for app, so they're probably still testing.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 2
How likely are the Roosters to run Radley on the interchange?
Friends 2017 80 minute average (12 games) equalled his 2016 season average of 58 (57.5)

Personally I don't think they will. I think if they need any sort of cover they'll use Matterson from the bench. Whether that means he or Aubbs goes to hooker I'm not sure but I don't think they'll run a utility

I don't think it matters. Round one they have a utility, round two they don't. Friend's minutes have been the last three years on avg 69, 76, 71.5 for avg's of 52, 59 and 50. He's not an 80 minute hooker. He'll play some games at 80 minutes but not others. He won't have to carry the team like when Pearce et al were out. He's priced at just over 50, I don't see much value but open to anything I've missed.
Edit: I'm talking about Friend priced at 50 with the same club with the same coach. But priced much cheaper with different coaches and possibly a big change in role are Cook and Lichaa and are much more interesting. Trials will be interesting in this regard.

in terms of Friend over Smith with the mentioned cook, lichaa, garvey on the bench making money (if playing 80)
They had Watson last year, Radley is young if he doesn't appear on the interchange Friend I would bet plays 80, but if its a week to week thing when he appears then doesn't, he probably isn't worth it, but for an 80 minute avg of 58 last 2 seasons he is a decent option

I don't know, in the last year three years Friend has played most games under the same coach. Saying that you are only going to analyse 80 minute games is like saying I'm going to take an average temperature for the year but exclude summer. I know I'm making the same argument for guys like Cook and Lichaa but the difference is Friend's role, club, position and coach isn't going to change a lot, he'll continue to play almost 80 minutes but guys coming into grade with new coaches who have shown (yes in 80 minute stats) they are guns have potentially a lot more value.

Put it this way 2016 Friend averaged 76 minutes over the season and averaged 58 points
Last year the Rooster had Watson, this year they don't, hence the potential for Friend to get back to that sort of average

Can I just say that I absolutely cannot wait to see Tom Wright debut. I went to school with the guy and as a school, it was compulsory to watch First XV Rugby. He was our fullback for three straight years. An absolute freak of nature. He's in my team as soon as there's an injury and I'm definitely going to watch him if Manly play anywhere in NSW

17 games (2 finals games) where Friend played above his seasons average minutes (71) he averaged 58 (57.6)
Season average minus 1 game he got injured in 3rd minute and his average is 54
