Hmm. I'd forgotten about that. I remember feeling happy about watching the live fantasy scores but never about the guy, concussion wasn't it?

I believe so mate, last year his average minutes were down 4 from his 2016 minutes, I'd put that down to Watson becoming a more important cog in the team and having more of a role

Without him, its only really Radley I can think off who might have the same effect

He was our fullback for three straight years. An absolute freak of nature. He's in my team as soon as there's an injury and I'm definitely going to watch him if Manly play anywhere in NSW

There's talk of him filling in at centre for the period Walker is out for (4 weeks currently expected).

Okay, there seems to be an increase in Manly fans lately, so let's use it, who is going to be 5/8 and why it will be good both for your team and for fantasy?

Fantasy aside I would put D Walker there but a lot of people seem to be very adverse to that.

That also frees up a spot in the back line for one of their young stars to get a crack

Didn't they try that? And it was pretty ordinary? I don't mean fantasy, it was just awful wasn't it?

Yep 2016. I don't think it was terrible. Obvious it wasn't their best but for me to start the season it would be easier to throw a rookie out on the wing rather than in a key position.

Croker has what half a game under his belt? Hes the man most likely to get the spot (at this stage according to reports) but I am surprised that Hastings isn't getting more talked up. I honestly think he did well during his time at the Roosters when Pearce was in the doghouse. He must have a bad attitude at training or something.

Anywho I would throw Dwalker into 5/8th to start the season with Brad Parker playing wing or something. Doubt its going to happen but I think for a few games they need some veteran players in the halves

I might be mistaken, but I think I read D Walker is injured to start the season anyway.

    Yep:

    Manly Sea Eagles

    Jorge Taufua (knee, round 1)
    Jake Trbojevic (pectoral, round 1)
    Dylan Walker (leg/ankle, round 5)
    Johnathan Wright (finger, fit trials)
Jake Trbojevic is expected to be fit for the kick-off to 2018 after tearing his pectoral muscle playing for Australia in the World Cup. Dylan Walker will miss up to the first month of the season after breaking his fibula and dislocating his ankle in a Prime Minister's XIII clash against PNG in September. Walker also had an off-season shoulder reconstruction.

True though, Hastings seemed to do a decent job all things considered. Several NRL games under his belt, in one of the best teams, possible scape goat while Pearce was out, possibly not his fault at all, possibly could go well at another team etc

I would hate that. Manly struggled with him at 5/8 in 2016. I have the confidence that Croker will do a great job. I'd like to see Wright and Parker in the centres rather than Kelly and Wright

Going by what has been written they want someone to play the Green type roll and they see Crocker doing that. DCE and TTurbo to run the attack.

I think we'll see Tommy get his hands on the ball alot when Manly are on attack - a bit like Teddy did at the tigers.

I terms of fantasy I think Crocker will be a slow burner but a good player to have sitting on your bench
