As far as Roosters go I can see Matterson starting on the edge with Aubbo on the bench to provide some relief for Friend. Matterson is a serious talent. Being a former half he has a level of ball playing rarely seen from second rowers(Wade Graham, Glenn Stewart etc). Could see Roosters line up similar to this.

    8.Napa
    9.Friend
    10.JWH
    11.Cordner
    12.Matterson
    13.Taukeiaho
    14.Aubbo
    15.Liu
    16.Butcher/Smith/Radley
    17.Collins/Tetevano/Vunaceke

I see a lot of rotation in the last two bench spots unless one of the young guns has a break out

I watched a highlights reel of him & he is really good. I'm the same as you if he gets a shot this year.

Going by what has been written they want someone to play the Green type roll and they see Crocker doing that. DCE and TTurbo to run the attack.

I think we'll see Tommy get his hands on the ball alot when Manly are on attack - a bit like Teddy did at the tigers.

I terms of fantasy I think Crocker will be a slow burner but a good player to have sitting on your bench

Yep I agree. I think Croker will do the majority of the kicking in general play freeing up DCE to combine with T-Trbo on attack.

I’ve only ever played nrl fantasy, what is the difference between that and SuperCoach? I have a idea but if somebody knows the exact difference a detailed description would be greatly appreciated.

I'm no sc expert but basically it is a more attack minded game. e.g. try 17 pts, try assist 12 pts, line break 10 pts. So while we go cheap in ctrs in nrl fantasy it pays to have 2-4 high scoring ctrs in your team in sc. Also another difference is there are no pts for kick metres in sc so you want attacking halves in sc. e.g. while you may pass on someone like Milford in nrl fantasy due to lack of kick metres & inconsistency he is actually a very good option in sc because true he is inconsistent but he has a very high ceiling in sc if he scores a couple of tries & sets up a few & gets some line breaks. On his good days Milford can score 100 pts.

    Hi guys.
Just caught up on the forum.
Lachlan Croker will be given first crack at the Manly 5/8 spot.
Whether that is in the trials or continues into the season who knows.
Good to see more Manly fans on the forum.

Yeah, I don't really see any room for Aubbs to cement a starting spot either in the second row. I'd definitely put Matterson on the edge too, but Robinson might want to go for the experience and have Matterson on the bench perhaps. I like that lineup although between Liu and SST either could start or come off the bench.

Yeah thanks mate I’ve seen it open and was using it as a gap filler till nrl was open. I was under the assumption it cost a lot of money to play and therefore wasn’t interested. If it’s free I might do both.

I think that’s wishful thinking on behalf of fantasy players, Aubs is such a great player and to think he would start on the bench is ludicrous. Aubs will start as always and if something goes wrong someone like Matterson will come from the bench to the second row and Aubs will fill the gap needed. You always start with your best 13 and while Matterson looks like a future star he is not yet close to Aubs.

I'm well aware Croker will get the spot ahead of Wright. I want Wright in the centres instead. Reminds me of Will Hopoate. Similar build, same height and weight I found out and he has the speed and ball-playing ability to excel

That least of reputable sources 'The Rugby League Bible' are reporting Austin to play Hooker in 2018. Whilst I will take anything they say with several grains of salt, would ruin Garvey/Savilia cashcows, but perhaps make Austin himself a good pick for the half positions (and bring Williams back into contention too)

I believe it would be more a single grain rather than grains..... Austin can’t tackle..... simple as that really.

This Austin playing hooker is just rubbish. Zero Tackle came out with the article but said Garvey would start the season at hooker but maybe Austin could fill in at hooker later in the game to bring Sam Williams on. Of course people just focussed on the words "Austin hooker" & forgot to mention the rest. Anyway Zero Tackle always come out with these rubbish articles.
