I haven't seen Fifita much, was in all my original selections and found his way back in last night

his 54.5 avg is his bare minimum in my opinion, plenty of scope to return to his glory 60s

I don't doubt him as a pick, but you can only fit so many >700k players in your side without wrecking the balance. I have targeted Smith (of course) but also Brown and Tedesco. I just prioritize those three more than I do Fifita, and a fourth "supergun" would wreck havoc on my reserves. Sure I could run with him instead of Brown if I were inclined but for 40k less I think he will score similarly and I would rather cheer for a god damn hero than a dickhead Laugh 3

Other than that I agree, I think he will score 55-60+ and certainly not less than he is valued

I've got those 4 currently, at the expense of running Inglis which I don't really want to do

You must be running pretty light in some other areas then, Ive tried adding Fifita to the mix, but it just leaves me far too sparse elsewhere for my liking. No way will you fit Cook in the reserves too if he is named without a backup hooker. Would end up running having to run Hiku and Milne in the centres or something Vomit

Fifita was too fat last year & his run metres dropped quite a bit from 2016 because the first defender went low on him stopping him from going on those diagonal runs where he also chalked up tb's.

Yea I could dump JBrom for Napa or start Lodge and bring in a decent benchie, but my gut is old JBrom returns

Running Lichaa with Garvey/Havilli, Lodge + Arrow currently

I don't mind running Milne and another cheapie in the CTR spots even Hiku

Halves I'd consider light with JRey + Croker but I think JRey goes around 40 and I'm good with that, even got Gi back in there

Smith and Fifita have both been my first pick since I started fantasy a few years ago, but as stated with the setup, it's just too difficult to fit Fifita in this year and I think I definitely want Smith and Teddy over Fifita at the moment.

Tedesco have never averaged higher than Fifitas worse fantasy season

Fifitas ceiling is 9 points higher than Teds best fantasy season

Is his move to the Roosters that defining that he is valued above Fifita?

I don't mind Milne or Hiku, but I don't like them together. It could be a masterstroke that lets you bulk up other positions, but I could also see Milne take a while to get his price off the ground in Tigers incredibly difficult first 5 rounds and then all it would take is something as simple as Hiku being replaced by Beale or Gelling  in round 2/3 to leave you a few hundred k short of reasonable scores in both CTR positions. I don't want to be trying to fix problems with my trades early on, I want to be snapping up cows. And being a natural pessimist, I only ever see my own fears in riskier strategies Rolling Laugh

Edit: I like the Jrey pick, reckon he will be a big POD for you and agree he should go ~40 (as long as the Tigers draw also doesn't hamper him)

    Was thinking about JRey myself. Made a Fifita team;

    Smith
    Fifita Lodge
    Harris Murray Arrow
    Watson JRey
    Milne Hiku
    Teddy Ponga GI

    Lichaa
    Cook
    Garvey
    Carty

    Croker
    Kikau
    Kennar
    Cleeland

Hard to get all three of Smith, Fifita and Ted in without the bench suffering.

Tigers always start fast then fall into oblivion by early -mid season, I'm not too worried about the draw, that was with a Tedesco causing havoc mind.

I guess I have always got lucky in the CTRs running cheapies, really need a youngster with CTR designation to be named starting 2RF on TLT Laugh 3

Forgot about Watson and he is cheaper than JREY bounce

not sure he has the same ceiling which is 45 but a decent option

Running both Watson and JRey could either make or break a season I reckon.  I think Watson is a safe pick if he can cement the number 6 jumper all year and JRey is a good player and hopefully with more direction in his game, he can excel.  He can come up with those big 25 point plays and always puts in.

his scores are good relative to his price, rather than in absolute terms.
