Apart from Teddy it looks like you have no "guns". Just with no Smith id expect to see a couple of big names in there. If all your 500,000 step up tho this team could do well

It's so dependent on TLT and already reported injuries make me worry but this is the team I have ATM.14 to 17 reserves a fraction weak but hopefully the strength of the starting 13 makes up for that.

I've been doing my head in trying to settle on a team, always looking for some advice, currently have 258k left in the budget but can't seem to figure out the best way to spend it, the obvious upgrade is gray to a midrange wfb but i cant decide which one! Any suggestions???

Trials and team lists may prove different, but signs at the moment are that Gray won't be in the first choice team, so you will probably want to get rid of him.

One option is to downgrade him to someone like Hiku/Katoa and then bring in an extra gun forward or half.

if you want to upgrade, my choice would be Inglis (if he is fullback and seems fit)
Mbye, Dufty, Latrell Mitchell are all possibilities you might want to look at. Even take a punt on Jarryd Hayne

Seems a solid team - with a few players likely to be there at the end. Initial bye coverage may be a concern, and you'll need a bit of C/WFB action in the emergencies.
JFH is an interesting pick - seems fully priced already?

Currently tossing up between Smith/Friend teams - would value your thoughts on the underlying logic and especially on the commonalities - are these the right ideas?

The logic for Smith team, to hold on to early points and hope on decent growth

I’m no analyst like Random or some of the other boys, but I will give it a shot for you.

DISCLAIMER: I’m not up on averages etc, I’m just giving personal opinions. Take it or leave it.

Smith: First to pick, set and forget, etc. Choose 1 of many cliches to describe the smith pick.
Fifita: I like this pick. I’d have him myself, but can’t seem to fit him in with his price tag. I think he had a below average year last year, and I believe this will turn around this year. Good pick.
RCG: Are you hoping he plays bigger minutes with a couple of the Panthers forwards moving to other clubs? I like the pick.
2RF: I think these are all standard picks by most coaches. I have these 3 in my 21 in some capacity, so thumbs up on them.
Walker: I like Walker. He been pretty consistent since he started in he NRL, whether at WFB or HLF.
Api: He’s one guy I’ve been toiling with about whether to pick him. He’s a great ball runner in my opinion. A really good running hooker. Will probably play 60-65 minutes, with the useless Lewis Brown playing the remainder. Good pick.
Hayne: My only question on him, is how consistent will he be at CTR. If by chance he gets moved to the back, I think he’ll kill it. Question marks for me at CTR, but worth the punt.
Milne: Standard
Teddy and Ponga: Standard
Coote: I’ve seen his name tossed around a bit as well. Not really up with his scoring capabilities. Better when JT plays? Good cheap place filler though.
Bench: Love the Lichaa pick. As for the rest, look solid for the remaining salary cap that is available.

OVERALL: Really solid team mate. Hope my amateur analysis was ok.

I've tried to put together a best-value/highest-growth team, that doesn't leave you stranded at the start of the season.

There are no real surprises here, and full bench coverage. But cheap: leaves 1.3mn in the bank.

Doing both Fantasy and Draft, ended up drafting this team last night, 8 team league (I know 8 team is weak...):
