This is the make up of my team atm

2 top shelf guns: CS9 & Teddy (Captain and Vice-Captain)
3 Guns on sale: GI, Thurston, Harris
3 Potential guns: Ponga, Murray & maybe Arrow
    7 mid-rangers
    6 cashcows under 300k

I was going to try and fit another top-shelf gun in, but struggled to get a good 17 when I did

Thanks Chewie! Looks like a good skeleton to base a team off. Mines similar just trying to source a little spare money to chuck ITB incase of emergency

Yeah IMO he is, maybe just. He's 2017 average does not justify his monster backend of last season

Thoughts on McQueen and Paasi? I like RFM, Murray and Arrow better but no guarantee that they will be named.

With second row and hooker having the most value would it make sense to gun up in the other positions?

And go for the value in those positions?

Thing is the two positions you named are also the best positions to have guns in. Then that cuts the likes of Smith, Taumalolo, Brown and the myriad of other 2RF guns you pick up.

There is value in almost every position this year.

Picking Smith means I have to have Hiku somewhere and I think he will be the biggest trap this year

Could well be given he is in 28% of teams and playing for the warriors who have a tough draw. But then again he is priced about 10 below his average at centre and has dpp. Tough call for me, I've put him in a few drafts but he's back out again. I think having a solid back 5 makes me feel better about likely having shit in my 18-21.

Yep - I've got him too to allow for Smith, Fifita and TTrbo. I have Mitchell as well so at least if a cheap wfb starts gunning it I can get them in for Hiku easily.

If you find the right value players in the 2nd row which lets you upgrade in other positions then that would be a big advantage.

If you think back to last season vaughan, brown, crichton etc were alot cheaper than burgess, james, bromwich

    Pending team lists:
    Aaron Gray
    Peta Hiku
    Mahe Fonau
    Dean Whare

Then the likes of Hunt/Milne in centre plenty of reason to go cheap at the back

Kinda confirms what I thought. Trap, trap, trap, trap and trap. All serious teams will have Milne.

I honestly have no problem with it posted here. Liverpool's team:

Hey lads, advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Cook
    JBrom, Lodge
    Harris, Murray, Arrow
    Croft, Watson
    Aitken, Milne
    Teddy, Ponga, Dufty

    Garvili, Aubbs, Mbye, NAS

    Leilua, Croker, Kennar, Katoa

Pick it apart lads. Obvious problem is captaincy trouble.

I don't like it. No stand out captain. No Cartwright. With no Smith you really should have another gun in there but don't. I do however like your portmanteau of raiders hooker.

Edit: possibly need just one of Aubbs/Aitken and one of Mbye/Dufty.

Cheers mate. Thought I was onto something but that's cool.
Completely forgot about Cartwright to be honest, so would have to fit him in somewhere.

    More tinkering is required

I like it. Pretty similar setup to my team. Same back 5. Things I don't like, no Cartwright, no Lichaa, having Aubbs, Mbye and Arrow. Can someone please convince me on Lodge? Not sure of his pedigree, what is he priced at and what do people expect.

I've recently just got rid of Alvaro and Arrow for Fifita and Nuff - is this move a good one considering I don't have Smith?

I have a good feeling about the Dragons this year especially there backs working off that pack, so think I will gamble on Dufty and Aitken this year.

I am unsure on Lodge and Arrow, just going with the flow on those guys.
