Seriously though, only one person has made a comment here, and it was me and it was true, so not sure what the comment about everyone coming out of the woodwork was about. A terrible way to finish a great contest test.

Although not the ideal way to win but if the call was made against the broncos and the tigers won. Most comments here and on social media would have been “suck it Broncos” and it would not have been as big as it has turned into

this probably reflects how i feel these days, golden point is a farce either for all the non-penalties or the one they decide to penalise, refs have put themself in a hard spot over the years.
i was for keeping it for a long time but most golden point periods are really not that exciting, its just a mess, the game would be better without it.

Not from me, and again, I'm the only commenter aren't I?
I tipped the Broncos for the record.

Sweet as.
On a side note, how bout the image of the Broncos markers on the Brooks field goal play. One either side of the guy playing the ball. Sooo much worse that the Tigers markers, with one square and the other not in any way involved in the play.
I wonder if the ref would have given the Tigers a penalty had the Brooks field goal missed? It's an interesting conundrum cause it was clearly a penalty but the field goal was kicked. Should the penalty override the successful FG in order to give the Tigers a shot at goal?
I have always liked Golden Point, but I must say, it's a different game to the 80 minutes that proceed it and I think we should either just go back to regulation or golden try only.

It’s one of those “ifs” when I saw that live I thought to myself that the broncos were well offside but like you said maybe cause Brooks landed it they let it slide maybe it would have been pulled up had he missed but we’ll never know. If the penalty had been called that overrided the dropgoal they’d get the two points and win the game.. however if they missed the penalty and lost the game because they overided the dropgoal you’d feel pretty hard done by.
I like the idea I saw on twitter. At full time give both teams a point and if there is a winner in extra time the winning team collects a further point. Last night the tigers deserved to walk away with something.

Fair enough.
Re the point each and extra point after golden point, I can't come at it because it means the game is worth 3 points.

Re: 2018 Brisbane Broncos Thread
yeah, you'd have to overhaul premiership points for that to work, maybe make games worth 4 points and go with:
4 points - win
3 points - GP win
2 points - draw
1 point - GP loss
0 points - loss
4 points - win
3 points - GP win
2 points - draw
1 point - GP loss
0 points - loss

Re: 2018 Brisbane Broncos Thread
I was a bullshit penalty at the end by the standard they've set themselves the last few years. The Bird no try was a bigger bullshit ruling. His hand was on the top half of the ball when it was on the ground, and that's been a try since 1908, and since video refs came in it has been confirmed that it doesn't matter how lightly you do that, it's a try. Given that would have made it 10-2, and the Tigers try came from the 7 tackle set from this ref error, as good as the Tigers played they were lucky to get to extra point.

So if Manly don't rort the salary cap DCE goes to the Titans, the Titans don't sign Taylor and Taylor stays at the Broncos instead of Brodie Croft.

Well to be fair I did have ryno systemically hunting down my posts and downvoting them for about a year.
Also, When you spend a decent amount of time telling the truth in a Bronco thread, you dont get many upvotes from them.

Classic Pieman daftness at it's best.
Can't believe he thought he'd still be net positive if downvotes were subtracted
