Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 19
Short rant: Getting kind of tired of the "that was a Smith Try Assist" argument. Nothing Smith did contributed to the try. He didn't draw any players, it wasn't an offload, it wasn't a chip behind the defensive line. It was a nothing pass to a fully stationary player who then did 100% of the work to score. Kikau is a TA because he held the ball into contact allowing Edwards to break the defensive line which led to the try. Big difference.
Anyway, loved that it was a tight game last night! It's a shame when games are decided by kickers because it isn't soccer lol I wish it was golden try unlimited and have team size reduced every minute

288 from 5 including captain. Regretting playing Doueihi ahead of Kikau - hoping doughboy can make at least 40.

I picked up Milf as a POD and as a Broncos fan and the last two games I've been pretty happy with him. Last year his kick metres hovered between 100-200 but in 1 & 2 this year he's kicked 200+ and then 350 last night.
57 last week and 48 this week, with zero tries, TA, LBAs which will all come in good time.

In Golden Point they should only allow field goals and tries. No penalty goals. Penalties can be given, but an attempt at goal from a penalty should not be allowed.
Sucks to be a Tiger losing the game like that

Thurston's 24 points the only disappointment.
Kikau making cash on my EMG bench

no way, team infringe on the goal-line enough as it is, it would turn into a penalty fest if there's no repercussions on the scoreboard, i'd like to see some sort of 'first to 4' system implemented

Goal off, select 4 goal kickers. Best of 4 wins.

Someone (I think WL) pointed out last night that so far 2018 seems to be year of the cow. There has been some ridiculously profitable cows so far, very early in the piece. I can't recall in year in my past 5 or 6 that has been quite like it. Interesting to see who the next will be.

like i said above, can you imagine the blatant penalties given if there were no penalty goals? anytime anyone looked like they might score teams would happily infringe to prevent it... you can't limit teams from using certain scoring plays, you have to incentivise the more definitive ones, you should be able to kick field goals and penalty goals, but know in the back of you mind that the other team can equalize and if they score a try before time runs out, they take the victory

@surmo13 True that, I get you. Repeat sets would eventually break teams but I do like the idea that it's not just golden point. Playing here, if it was a draw, we'd play 10min OT and highest score then would win. Makes more sense and is a lot clearer.

There was outrage over CS9 being owed a try assist and offload.
What about the try save on McCullough last night?
Corey Thompson was underneath him when he was held up over the line, but no try assist has been given.
Shit, I didn't realise Thompson didn't get that. That was a textbook definition of a try save.
