Just on the importance of minutes played from last thread. Topic started with the comment that Alvaro's scores were not that tempting because he wasn't getting good minutes.
Who would you prefer to have in your team, a guy who scores 50 points in 40 minutes, or a guy who scores 45 points in 80 minutes (assuming same price)
The way some people obsess over minutes here I think some people would rather have the 80 minute guy

I think people forget Cartwright is actually a big body, playing in first grade. Doesn’t seem crazy to me that the coach would expect him to play in the middle and actually make some tackles.SI wrote:
Agree in a sense, but I think the only person in the history of forever to think Carty was a Lock was Brennan. He built his rep on carving teams up out wide and being an off loading running half. His strength is creating so let's try to make him tackle all day and give him limited space to run. Crazy stuff.

Why are you so keen on Isaako? You’ve missed 3 weeks worth of points and price rises

I’m actually amazed to see Taupau there. I’m an owner and he’s been really underwhelming to follow for his price. Spends way too long on the bench for my liking and relied a couple of times now on some junk points and huge finishes to crack 45.
I wouldn’t be getting him if not already an owner unless really short on round 13 players. Fonua Blake has actually kept pace with him in their opening period in 2 of the 3 games and close to matching minutes in 2 of the matches also, for a good couple hundred k less
The huge PPM guys are generally a massive let down. At least it's not pre season now and we can get a look at them before trading them in though.mattnz wrote:
I think the guy getting lots of points and the chance to improve their minutes. This year Kikau is a great example.
I am watching the guys that are historically PPM beasts that are now getting more minutes, like Paul Vaughan. Huge upside potential there.

Taupau should have lots more points than he does. Only got 35 minutes in the blow out win on 40 degree day, but would have got 70+ with his normal minutes. Last week it was wet and he was clearly under instructions not to offload. I see him averaging 60+ with his normal minutes and dry conditions.

Job security has risen with Oates and Kahu battling injury. Boyd and Bird somewhat clouded aswell.
Solid enough scores so far for Isaako and now goalkicking. Much cheaper than other ctr/wfbs around.
I started with him, but would still recommend him if someone needs a CTR or already has JMK.

I'm dealing with the Hayne fiasco in my centres atm.
Had a look at Kennar and Isaako, but am leaning towards the glassman.
I know, I know, it's a risk, but with his low ownership and point scoring potential I hope to make a few gains once the cashcow centres from other teams finally fail to produce a try in each game.
However to fund this venture I'll need to offload the "softman" Bryce Cartwright.
What do you guys think?
