I wanted Roberts but was about $4k short. Hopefully this is an accidental masterstroke and I can use the leftover cash to upgrade elsewhere next week (potentially Carty!)

And like I said with Croft when I dumped him, if Merrin goes bonkers next round good on him.
My halves are terrible atm and need to get someone in there. He allows that and a luxury upgrade.
Team balance always comes first

Some players can do both.... whiteheadSI wrote:
Agree in a sense, but I think the only person in the history of forever to think Carty was a Lock was Brennan. He built his rep on carving teams up out wide and being an off loading running half. His strength is creating so let's try to make him tackle all day and give him limited space to run. Crazy stuff.

Yes the most you can have is 16 in one of those rounds and 17 in the other

I can really see the confidence coming into his game week by week. He will be a great player one day. Loves a run or two in the red zone, fast, safe as a brick shit house under the high ball, kicks goals. Just needs some tries and he is a great CTR/WFB choice. Averaging 33 at the moment, but I feel he will average between 33 and 40 on a week to week basis, once he starts scoring tries it will be great to watch. I don't see him scoring lower than his 26 2 weeks ago this year.

yeah Isaako definitely has potential to go up a bit... but Kennar will have a try-less game eventually

I agree. I like to think on that day he will be on my bench.

Solid enough scores so far for Isaako and now goalkicking. Much cheaper than other ctr/wfbs around.
I started with him, but would still recommend him if someone needs a CTR or already has JMK.
Agreed. I jumped on him last week when his job security went up and started goal kicking

Kennar scored 33 without a try in Rd 2. Pretty solid still, but I've benched him for Isaako this week. Banking on him to carve up the Titans.

If Smith doesn't bust out 65+ this week, him and his smug face can fuck right off.
Ill have Friend, who plays rd 13 scoring well, and the extra cash to make the Douhi, DCE upgrade in two weeks time

Thats why I use the loophole each week. Lets me get Hiku when he scores 53 and Kikau when he scores 56 instead

What players can score on their day is interesting, but in a 26 round comp (or what ever it is these days) what they score on their average day is what matters.
If Isaako for example typically averages 33 (where he's at now) then a score of 70 won't even bump that average up by 2 points. I wouldn't hold my breath that Isaako will average much more than where he's at now....
With that in mind, the question is will he make enough money to warrant trading him in given his job security? Have you guys who are considering him got those numbers?
If its just $100k which @Liverpool_Bulldog mentioned I'd argue that's not enough in this comp (to warrant two trades)!!

Im normally not one to buy into the opposition and all that, but Hiku against the Roosters, scares me. Doesn't change anything for me, im forced to play him.

Taupau's normal minutes are on the low end. Like 45-50 from memory having owned him last year.
No way he averages over or close to 60.
Was getting 52 in 35 minutes without tries or try assists, just offloads and tackle busts. 50 minutes is plenty for him to rack up big points on a dry track.

1 trade this week = Carty to Murray which leaves 7k bank.
I'll have no hlfs cover & playing Doueihi & L. Croker in the halves.
Smith is on his last chance & will sell him to DCE if he doesn't get at least 60 this week.

I was trying to look at his average minutes and points for the last two seasons, @mattnz you sound like you must have those numbers - if so, could you post them up. BTW, where does the 35 min 52 point stat come from?
Disc: I have him in my team and I hope his production improves but don't have the numbers to get a good read at this stage.
