Yep, I'm hoping to ride him up to the $600s to shrink the gap to a gun FRF. Or keep him if need be.....

If he keeps that Lock roll for the year and avg's 45 -50 I think he is almost keeper worthy

Yeah mate, of course. In theory if you had 13 playing in round 13 then your other 8 would be playing in round 17 (assuming no Origin players, injuries etc). Therefore if you max traded you'd easily have 13 by round 17.

I think someone posted you could get a total of 33 players across both bye rounds if you max traded and had no origin players, nor injuries, and all your guys played.

The formula you need to work off is 15000 * what you think he will average.

So if you think he ends up a 50 point player then 50*15000 = $750,000

Minus current price ($490k) and thats what he will make from here, roughly.

The "potential" is determined by what you think he will average though and thats the bit with the uncertainty.

For those thinking the Panthers Rookie will be a late change to the starting side, Griffin has confirmed that Peachey will start alongside Maloney with Luai to come off the bench.

Theoretical vs practical. How many would be keepers sold needing trade to get back or trade for spud player that plays one bye then you want to get rid

Not sure. From last season I realised that a number of people get caught up in how many guys they can get on the park for the bye rounds when the real question is how many points can you get out of the bye rounds.

I have thought a bit about this, but not a heap, so my goal will be to make upgrades to guys like Friend, Taupau, DCE, Taumalolo, Crichton, Brown over the next 8 rounds or so (who should all play 13), and then trade perhaps 2 or 3 of my guns to new season keepers who play 17 (Mannering, Macca, Cotric, SJ, RTS etc). On top of that I'll want to try and cash out cows to cheap guys that play either 13 or 17 (I've got my eye on a couple forwards from the Broncos and Dogs at this stage) and perhaps eek out a bonus 30 odd points for each of those guys....

Im taking a guess but I reckon if by round 12 a good average score is 900 (with a full team on the park) then I'd hope that I can average about 700-750 per bye round with a good bye strategy with a decent number of trades dedicated to the strategy. I reckon that would equate to perhaps 13 or 14 guys each bye round, but like I say that number is kinda irrelevant.... The whole thing needs to be balanced with a bigger picture strategy for getting together your final 17 or 18 guys and how many trades you'll need for that both in trading in those players and in generating the cash to afford them. I've been working through that a bit today and think that this year the bye planning might be best to take a bit of a back seat to the bigger picture.

Does my ramble make any sense?? Smile

    Smith, Cook, Havili
    Aarow, Lodge, Kikau, Nicholls
    Nbrown, RFM, Murray, Griffin
    Douehi, Croker, Cartwright
    Inglis, Kennar, Hayne
    Tedesco, Dufty, Ponga, CThompson

    $200k in the bank.

I have made two trades from that squad, looking for alternative options if I have missed something.

I would have thought Carty. But no-one really knows whats gonna happen with him huh. If he pulled finger and got a start in the halves he could probably average high 30s. But at this stage he's a risk of basically peaking in price now.

Heavily on the other hand still has money to be made, perhaps $100k or so, maybe less if he continues to get the same minutes and stops scoring tries, but potentially more if he gets more minutes as a result of the changes made to the Raiders team this week.

In short, on balance, Id say Carty is the trade over Havili right now.

I think Carty on the basis that even 2-3 weeks playing off the bench could mean he's peaked in price for now - you need that spot in your 21 to either be scoring points or making money at this stage of the season with the reduced squad size. Havili's BE is low enough if he continues to score OK then he'll still make a bit of cash in the short term.

TL;DR - Havili should still make a bit more $$$. Carty may not. Keep Havili.

I feel good that I've gone Carty>>Arrow rather than trying to stretch to Fifita/Taupau.

Also, I had a dream that Fifita goes down injured this week. A dream about fantasy NRL rather than Scarlett Johansson means that I have a problem! Very Happy

Option 1: Leave Carty in EMG and just hope he makes a bit more cash for 1-2 weeks

Option 2: Say screw it and just trade him to Taupau straight away for a overall points view point
