Can’t afford to do anything else.. not fussed on Inglis, don’t wanna get rid of Tanginoa and don’t want to get rid of Kennar hahaha

The second one makes more sense but I’m worried about Inglis

Just had a quick look at your team and assuming cash is low. Also assume you are trying to cover the CTRs. Why not just Sao out Isaako in. Keep your "better" performing cows.

Dugan should have less Cash at 38 BE than Cartwright does at a 15 BE even off the bench. He's still there next week and Croker, Havilii, Tanginoa, Doueihi will give you another look at which one you like least if you still want Dugan.

Then again you are beating me so your ideas may be better. Just don't really like either trade.

I've only done it for my team. To compare to the numbers you posted in Booze's thead just add 5M to all the numbers I give below but I can see 19 guns is hard.

Currently I have Smith, Macca, Cook, Murray, TTurbo, Tedesco and Ponga as 7 of my 19 guns (~$5M). The rest of my team is currently worth 5.76M and project at their current averages to get me around 7.87M.

I worked out to get my remaining 12 premium guns (Friend, LoLo, RTS, SJ, DCE, Cleary, Fifita, Tapau, JTurbo, Brown, Fergo and Gagai) and 2 x 212k NPRs I'd need 9.68M.

For a 17 or 18 man approach I can just add some more 212k guys in

    Current Team: 7.87M
    17 Guns: 8.57M
    18 Guns: 9.14M
    19 Guns: 9.68M

At this point I need either some super cows to come along or to make compromises on/time getting in my final guns.

The goal is to get to 19 but not at the expense of my 17 if that makes sense. No point running SST or NAS instead of Fifita just to get to 19. I can't really set this out in stone but this strategy needs me to:

    - be patient with guys like Kennar to extract all the cash (low BE, have cover with Isaako and Hiku)
    - Identify the next wave of great Cash Cows (everyone needs to do this anyway as most people will be short on a gun 17)
    - Jump on guns at the right time (went with Macca and Murray last week as I know I want them in my 17 and this was likely their cheapest)
    - Know when to compromise (Instead of RTS and DCE as my 18/19 maybe I go Walker and Milford)
    - Take some risks (Lolo might be replaced by Gallen but theres some trust needed that Gallens first three weeks aren't a sign of regression when he gets a few good scores)

19 is the ideal number I'd like to get to but it doesn't really look possible to have that without some luck along the way. But you need to be thinking about it now if you want a chance to achieve it. Really helps me put my current trades in perspective.

Awesome man, some good stuff there.

I think the next step from there has to be a reasonable estimate of how much money you can expect on average from a CC and then how many trades you'll need to make to get there.

So from where you are now (with 7 guys set in stone) no matter if you want 17, 18, or 19 guns you'll use 14 trades to get the remainder of your final team.

Lets say conservatively you've used all your trades at this point, that means you have 28 left - 14 = 14 to make your money for your final team + cover for injuries etc and for arguments sake lets just say no trades for any bye strategy.

I reckon you can reasonably say on average you can expect 100-150k for each new CC. If we make the case that 10 will come along from here, that's somewhere between $1m and $1.5m that you can make, which could in theory get you to the 18 gun team and still leave 4 trades for the run home. I think the key might be in your 4th point, compromising some of the big guns for smaller ones. That might just get you over the line. And with your strategy, I think that makes most sense in the WFB and Half spot. Guys like Walker, Widdop, Mbye, Milf, Croft & Nikorima even can smash out big scores every now and then and if you are able to get free looks at them with looping, then having a couple of them in your 19 would make sense (if you can get them cheap).

Richie Kennar has been ruled out of this week’s game for @SSFCRABBITOHS with a minor hamstring strain. Rabbitohs are hoping he will only miss 1 week, most minor hamstring strains fall in the 2-4 week recovery range

RD3. 29 against the Bulldogs - Was carrying an injury but made 29 tackles, 1 MT, 67 MG, 2 PC

I'm happy with his scoring for sure. Just my halves stocks are rubbish (Walker, Carty) now with Carty being benched it leaves me in a spot of bother.

Amen to that @Chitmunkey. Theres a whole heap with ya but you get told ur stupid if u openly say u play the game fair and ethically. Its a big thing when a seasoned player can lose interest for these reasons like urself.

I started with Smith, Turbo, Jurbo, DCE, Ponga, Cook, Murray and possibly Mitchell (being a CTR) who I think will all be in my final 17. I am looking at getting players like Teddy, Lolo, Cleary, Friend, Fifita, Taupau, Gagai, Fergo in my team. I think starting with 7-8 guns will work well for me this year especially with the cows and mid rangers performing so well. I think I will be able to finish with at least 17 guns in my team pretty easily.

If I trade SST instead of Merrin.
    My halves options become

    Norman
    Moses
    Keary
    Townsend
    Nikorima

Any of these worthy of a spot next to Walker?

What's to say Croker has a niggling injury and hastings is only in for cover this week? Nothing is ruling out Croker returning next week? and hasting being pushed back to the bench

If I hold Merrin and he scores 40+ tonight I would be happy with that. Maybe Matterson scores 45 to 50, but I think holding the trade would have been worth it. I may have to get matterson regardless in a week or two, but at least I've pushed back burning the trade a little, and who knows what injuries/suspensions may pop up in a weeks time.

Also, Maybe matterson only plays 60 mins and scores 35. Or do we think Cordner will continue to be subbed?

Completely agree after last year Trajan. But then his risk v reward starts eating away at the really small part of my really small brain that isn't conservative.

You are right about it being a habit. Maybe he is just waiting for the disappointment of another injury, maybe he has a low pain tolerance. But definitely looks like a reflex to grab an ankle every few tackles.

In most circumstances the following trade is a no brainer right? other option is no trade for another week. Can field a strong enough 17, will need to play Carty though.

    Merrin>Murray
    Carty>RFM

    Or
    Merrin>murray
    Croker>RFM

Its an absolute shambles this year. At least last season looping was effectively restricted to 3 rounds max and to just your captain.

This year as I showed earlier you can feasibly do it twice in a single round, and basically everyone ill have the ability to do at least once for the majority of the rounds in the season. I can't believe the muppets that came up with this format.....

So that leaves me in a bit of a different position from you guys in that I would loop if I could, but I typically can't cause I don't have the time during the weekend to do it. 2 kids, heaps to do, so it aint gonna happen. SO that leaves me effectively in the same position as you which is a choice between playing the game on an uneven playing field, or ditching it all together.

What I'll probably end up doing is playing for as long as I feel like Im in with a shot and then dropping out....

Ah I see what you mean. Expectation he gets the gig is it? Don’t know much about him myself but do know unfortunately Peach is often first shafted to the bench if anyone else is any good!

I've been waiting for a way to get Peachey in my team for years. Unfortunately Tyrone May is a very good prospect so as you say, Peachey going on history will bump back to the Centres or bench. Particularly with May the future and Peachey leaving.

As far as not knowing much about him GM, he was strikingly similar for me of Ryan Matterson when Matterson first started in the halves in 2016-fast and big and a running 5/8 in the Carty mould.

Yeah, I'm torn really. I wouldn't keep a non-player in order to loop - but, as I'm keeping Kennar (hoping he's only missing for one week) then it seems daft not to.
