Yes everyone has negatives but Missed tackles and penalties are a base stat for Jimmy M. His extra KM and goalkicking will equal out the negatives so his attacking play will be the points each week

Safest thing to do With Maloney is set your thinking to -16 minimum each week and ask yourself if what your expecting of him is worth it

Bringing Hiku into your top 17 isn't too much of a problem IMO. I wouldn't bring in Maloney though if you aren't going to play him.
At the post above, round 3 I was meaning, missed 14 tackles, which is a good effort really.
Yeah wow, 14 is impressive haha. Kikau next to him though now helps. I think Griffin has realised that and if Kikau starts next to him all the time, he should miss less.

Lane is still pretty pricey, isn't he?
Priced at 32 with an average of 39 starting 2nd row last year. High of 57 low of 23 from 19 minutes.

Maloney currently priced at 25 points.
Even last year his final average as 27. And the 4 years before that he averaged 42, So might work as a cheap trade for Cartwright, but please don't go around expecting 80s again.
Just look at Mbye for what can happen when you chase last week's scores (and remember Maloney scored -4 in 80 minutes just a few weeks ago)
With the 85 staying on his record for the next few weeks (and the -4 dropping off it) I'm looking at bringing him in strictly for cash, probably for Havili as 18th man. Riff have a pretty juicy schedule coming up too. How much will he be if he, say, strings together 4 scores of 35? (I know he's not consistent so likelier to be 20/45/60/15 but for argument's sake)?

Thoughts on Hess?
Going to dump Smith, and could go to McCullough (who has the advantage of being an obvious captain choice) or go slightly different and bring in Hess (which leaves me some more money ITB to upgrade Doueihi once he stops making money)

Before every season someone posts that Smith is a year older and a year slower and blah blah blah.
Could this be the year they get it right.
Also I'm going so bad this year, I've got $400K in the bank, I'm fucking off Carty for Maloney just for shits and giggles and will have a cool $1M to replace Smith with.
Any thoughts ?

Yeah, if Peachy stays at 6, then Maloney is worth the trade. If May comes in, then things get a little tricky.
Carty BE of 35, might be worth the swap.
May is not a kicker of the ball either, 38 kick metres total over 7 games last year, so if you are relying on kick metres and goal kicking for Maloney's points I think you are OK either Peachey or May.
Just have to hope he can keep his negatives in the 10-15 range rather than 20+

He's probably worth the punt then. If he jags a try here and there and cracks a 35-40 in a couple of games, the money would be beneficial. Really, I'd only expect around 25 for him anyway. Carty looks cooked and Croker not much better either so.....plus if MBye doesn't play, I'm up shit creek.

At a 25 average he would peak at around 450k in 3 weeks time. Not sure that is worth 2 trades

Is it a good idea to bring rochow in for merrin? I started the season with rochow but like many other traded him out after round 2. Merrin isn’t get the minutes I would expect from a premium.

Tanginoa did his ACL. Lane or Winterstein most likely to come in.

Priced at 32, an average of 40 is not worth the trade.

If Brandon Smith gets that 13 Jersey for the next 4-6 weeks even with his high BE is surely a certain pickup? If he is a straight swap in the line-up for Dale Finucane who is averaging 57 minutes I think Brandon Smith can just as easily get 35 just off his tackling, plus with his tenacity he will get 1 or 2 TB's and a bunch of MG he is bound to average 40-45. Plus he knows how to find the try line. If he is named I will definitely be picking him up.

Both far to expensive to be useful.
