He has slipped in the past but his performance on field has always been solid.

The last 2 games I've seen from him have been very average. His on field play isn't what it used to be. It seems they are a bit lost without Cronk, croft is not a first grade player.

He isn't kicking goals anymore, which is at least 6 points off his average, he isn't kicking from half at all or even running the ball. He is either getting old or carrying an injury.

But he looks like a 30 point hooker right now.

Same story for JT, looks like age/injury is getting too him. He is gone for DCE this week.

Lets not get carried away. The main reason Smith looks like a 30 point hooker is because he was just in a game with almost 60 errors+penalties, and he got sinbinned
There is a 0% chance that that becomes the norm. Maybe it happens 1 more week to set an example, or the Storm struggle to adjust to the new interpretations.

The real concern is whatever injury has made him give up kicking (both goal kickers and general play). Storm are never forthcoming with injury updates, so will have to make a guess about how serious it is and how long it will effect him for.

Maloney currently priced at 25 points.

Even last year his final average as 27. And the 4 years before that he averaged 42, So might work as a cheap trade for Cartwright, but please don't go around expecting 80s again.
Just look at Mbye for what can happen when you chase last week's scores (and remember Maloney scored -4 in 80 minutes just a few weeks ago)

Only halves I can afford for Carty is 450K, so Moses, Smith, Maloney. unless I double trade and get rid of Smith.

How safe is WSmith's job security at the back? Might keep the jumper til Gutho gets back.

If Maloney stays by Peachy for the next month or 2, his kicking game alone will boost him decently.. Basically they will be playing with 1 half, which is pretty appealing for his price. I'm thinking of a straight swap from Cartwright, and re assess in 3-4 weeks. He's no keeper, but is one of the only guys I see around that price range who is likely to make a bit of coin.

As always, will wait for the teams to be named before confirming anything.. Cartwright needs to go, the titans basically showed they don't need him as anything but a bench utility.

Yeah, if Peachy stays at 6, then Maloney is worth the trade.  If May comes in, then things get a little tricky.

Carty BE of 35, might be worth the swap.

potentially a good move for me (Merrin to someone at Manly) to allow a solid upgrade to a half (another fkn manly player)

In saying this, he missed 14 tackles last week which is a scary thought, but should still make more points than Cartwright if he keeps getting 2 minutes!

I don't like it, but could be worth the gamble.

Thinking of going Merrin and Carty to DCE and Maloney.

Both will have to be in my 17 unless I promote Hiku/Havili/JMK

Would much rather bring in whoever benefits from the Storm/Manly injuries than Maloney.

Bringing Hiku into your top 17 isn't too much of a problem IMO. I wouldn't bring in Maloney though if you aren't going to play him.

At the post above, round 3 I was meaning, missed 14 tackles, which is a good effort really.
